Ebay pin

Sisters,
This one might slip by because it is misidentified. Wanted you all to see it, though. I am unable to post the link because of a computer glitch - search EBAY for "sorority pin" and you will find a picture with about 6 pins on it. The one for sale is ours.
Roses,
Anna

I mailed the seller and told them that it was an aopi pin. She thought it was a different sororoity.

Why is it soo hard for the seller to realize that it is an aopi pin? They all think that it is a different sorority.

I figured this seller saw the last one that was for sale and thought it's seller knew what he was talking about! Is there even an Alpha Theta Pi?

Not that I know of.

I just wanted to add as an FYI...

If a seller does not know it is an AOII pin and has it listed incorrectly it should (in theory) keep the price lower and allow a sister to rescue it relatively inexpensively (especially an older or fancier one). This is the same reason that we try not to mention e-bay and badge/pin in the title of a thread as lurkers (read badge collectors) look at these threads. I know there was a thread on this in another forum...I will search and see if I can add a link.

Moderator - feel free to remove this thread if you feel that it is detrimental to pin-buying. Forgive my ignorance, I had not seen a thread about the need for cryptic posts on the subject.

Check it out...Someone e-mailed the seller....The badge has now been correctly identified and the price has risen.... :(

Unfortunately, that's not surprising to learn. Darn it!

Just a reminder to all of us--make sure you regularly check that your badge is where you think it is and you report it if it's lost or stolen. While I'm on a roll :) make sure that your family and friends know what to do with your badge when you die. Educate our sisters, too.

Does anyone know the percentage of our badges that are lost or sold as part of an estate vs. the percentage sold/auctioned by former members? I'm curious...

Christin

And just to plug the AOII Foundation.....
Consider giving a gift to the AOII Foundation in your will and joining the Second Century Society. The form is EASY and you do not have to reveal how much you have chosen to donate.

My badge was stolen. I e-mailed IHQ with the specifics, it had not been returned. I am still hopefull it will be returned or show up on e-bay.
