favorite part of rush

Hey everyone! As a recent alum, I am now helping another chapter do rush and it got me thinking how much I loved rush and what my favorite things were. I think my favorite thing was the closeness I felt with my sisters(maybe because we had been stuck in the house for WAY to long) and pref night, especially senior year when I got to speak. Anyone else have a good rush memory?

BUMP!

Hey, it's a recruitment related thread! Hee hee!

What's my favorite part of recruitment? EVERYTHING!

My favorite memory is the first time we achieved quota during formal recruitment (still called it 'rush' in those days though.) We worked our rear ends off, were closer than we'd ever been as a chapter, and it truly was a magical week for all of us. I've got pictures of us from our rush retreat and pre-Pref from that year in my scrapbook, and I know I'm biased, but each one is just a great illustration of the paths we took to achieve our goals.

Well as a former Rush Chair - I'd have to say that I love every part of recruitment. I think if I had to pick one out - it would be Pref.

As an adviser I love watching someone get it. The recruitment "bug" bites them and they have that same look in their eyes that I KNOW I had. And watching as they escort their PNM to the door and that look and excitement they have that they just got their girl. When I see that - I get all mushy inside.

Actives - what an honor you have of selecting the future leaders not only of your chapter but of our Fraternity!

My favorite part was always Bid Day. I loved the intense feeling of sisterhood as we would stand in front of the house and try to outscream the other sororities with our AOII songs and chants while waiting with anticipation for the new members. And when those excited and enthusiastic girls ran into our arms on the front lawn, it was just awesome and really made me realize all the hard work and long hours and lack of sleep that went into rush was really worth it.
