Summerland

Who else has seen this show?
They were hyping tonight's episode up so much that I thought it was the first one, but it turns out that there was one last week too. I missed that one, so I was rather lost tonight and was hoping that someone could fill me in!

I like this show too. It's like a 2004 version of "Party of Five" at the beach. Good stuff.

Here's a recap of the pilot:
Ava is living in a beach house with her ex-boyfriend, Johnny; her best friend Susannah; and her other friend Jay. Ava and Susannah quit their jobs at a fashion house b/c they hated their boss. So, they were going to move to Paris and start over. But then Ava go the news that her sister and brother-in-law died in an accident. And they left their 3 kids to Ava. So Ava moved the kids from Kansas to California. The kids had trouble adjusting....Nikki was acting like a brat, Derrick wanted to go to heaven to be with his parents, and Bradin got drunk. And the adults were all considering moving out and getting their own places. But now they're all ok (for now) and staying at the beach house. Also, Bradin has a crush on his surfing teacher Erika and got pissed when he saw Jay kissing her. And Ava and Susannah are trying to start their own clothing business. That's about it.

Twenty minutes into the show tonight I realized that the guy Ava was dating was C. Thomas Howell. I was wondering where he's been since "The Outsiders". He's not aging very well.

I only caught the first 20 minutes, and I wanted to watch the entire show...but oh well.

They'll probably show an encore episode on Sunday (as they usually do with Everwood, One Tree Hill, etc. during the regular season). I hope so, anyway.

Seems interesting so far...

they said they will be showing it thursday and sunday. it looks like they are following in the form of the OC in putting it on 3 times a week..

They are trying to get everyone to see it so they get hooked. Im not sure when, but they will probably only show it Tues (its reg time) and Suns after a few weeks. They have been showing the episodes from a lot of shows on Sun for people who miss them. Thats good too if you cant see it Tues you get another time to.

I liked the show. I admit, I thought this isnt gonna be good when I first heard about it, but I watched the first show, the 2 hour long one, and it was good so I caught the new episode last night. I think it'll be something Ill end up trying to see over the summer. I like how it is. I agree its like Party of 5 but it pretty cool so far.

I know this is an old thread, but anyways.

I now have class on Monday nights so I missed last night's episode! Did anyone see it and know if they are going to re-show it any other time this week?

I swear I am cursed with having grad classes on the nights that I like to watch tv.

I don't think so. My DVR messed up the other night so I'm way bummed. :(
