How many lap dances can you get for $130,000?
A Bangladesh's diplomat husband is suing a high end strip club because they added $130,000 to the bills for a night of boozing and strippers.

I don't know if I agree or disagree but I do have a story to tell related to this issue. One of my sorority sister's was a bridesmaid in another sister's wedding. They held the bachelorette party at a place in Long Island (it is slipping my mind now the name) where they do all-male revue, but I am sure those of you living in the area know the name. In any event, my sister had one glass of wine and became so sick, dizzy and passed out in the bathroom. They had to take her home. They think someone slipped something in her drink. I just want everyone to be aware of this. Part of the draw at this particular place is that you are given passes to go to nearby clubs and bars after the show at the strip club. My sisters think that one of the bartenders or dancers did this thinking she would be an easy target at one of the clubs after the show. Those places are so ridiculously over-priced anyways. I went to this place once that my sister got the stuff put in her drink. It was like close to $200 or something crazy like that for me alone for the night by the time you pay for favors, drinks, food and tips. It's not much better getting a regular stripper. I did that once for another sister when I was her maid of honor. Never again. First of all, he got lost and kept calling my cell-phone which totally gave away the surprise. He was late and it ended up costing me again another $200.00. One of the bridesmaid's was supposed to go in on it with me that night but "conveniently" forgot her checkbook. Everytime after that she "forgot" her checkbook and her money but that is another story. I would never want my friends to get me a stripper if and when the time comes that I get married. Right now I am perfectly happy being in the GC singles club. When do you ladies want to get together to haze the frat boys LOL?:D

At $20 a piece for a lap dance, that's 6500 lat dances. If each were to last 5 minutes, that's 32,500 minutes spent - 541 hours - 22 1/2 days. Now I'm guess that was mostly tips. :D

A similar kinda thing happened at the Gold Club, a now defunct (as an aside, the building is now being used as a church.) strip club in Atlanta. A lot of celebs and pro ball players went there all of the time. THey would buy the dancers drinks and the drinks would cost $20-30 dollars. Bottles of wine or champange that you can buy from the grocery store would cost $800. Dude still have to do a *LOT* to get to $130K, but I can see it happening. Then, the bartenders and wait staff were double charging the customs, which they did not frequently know until they got their bill the next month.
The club was closed down due to mob connections and money laundering. |

The real story here is that these strippers are amazing salesmen. I hope that the Harvard Business Review does a study on them. |

You have to be really careful of that here in NYC. I've spoken to a lot of people who've been double charged places. The best is when you go out with a friend, and he buys you a drink but those drinks he paid for show up *again* on your bill. It's easy for clubs and bars to get away with this stuff especially when people are intoxicated. When I go to new places I pay for my drinks one drink at a time to avoid this happening. And always in cash. I used to frequent a bar in my neighborhood and the bartender got mad because my friend wouldn't date him. After all the free drinks he gave us before she turned him down, she tried to pay the tab one night by credit card. He said the machine was out of order and not to worry about it. I went in there one night a couple weeks later and he wanted me to pick up the tab. Bottom line watch out for shady bartenders. If they can get away with getting your money they will try anything. |

Because if his wife were smart she'd divorce him and then kick his sorry arse out the country for being such a twit. It was the diplomat's husband, not a diplomat.
