Sorority Requirements

Hey everyone. Ok, I'm really, really nervous. Rush starts tomorrow, and I can't wait, but I'm scared I won't get into the sorority I want. On the registration form that we had to fill out before rush we had to put down what activities we were involved in in highschool, and what our GPA was. I wrote that i was involved in service club, spanish club, anti-drug programs for grade-schoolers, national honors society, decorating for rallies, and decorating for dances. My GPA was a 3.9-do you think this stuff is good enough to be considered for a sorority. Thanks so much for any help...I don't know why I am so nervous.

Don't be nervous! The GPA definitely kicks butt http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif and it sounds like you were in a good mix of activities. The most important thing is how you get along with the sisters. Just relax and have fun with rush. Good luck!

your gpa and activities sound fine. if you don't make the cut, it won't be because your grades were too low or you weren't involved enough. what really matters, once it has been established that you're decent academically and extra-curricularly, is how well you click with the sisters, personality-wise. during rush, the sisters are trying to evaluate whether or not they'd like to hang out with you, party with you, study with you, brush their teeth next to you, etc. they are determining whether or not you'd fit in with the existing sorority, and whether or not you share the group's ideals and can uphold it's reputation. as long as your grades and activities are decent (yours sound more than decent), these factors don't matter so much..... what really gets you in or keeps you out is how much the sisters "like" you as a person..... are you fun, genuine, poised, etc? would they like to spend large quantities of time with you for the next several years?
