Bad timing?

Ok.. I know the issue of timing was discussed some in the soulmates thread..

Has anyone ever just had really bad timing based on dating a certain person.. like you or them are either single/attached at seperate times? Do you think that if it was meant to be, we would have just made it work or do you think that sometimes people dont end up together because of bad timing?

Here is the situation.. there is always a situation..

There is this one guy I know and we have been friends since high school.. all the time either I had a boyfriend or he had a girlfriend.. but we were always good friends and hung out all th time knowing that we were always both attracted to each other.

Only once we were both single. We dated at the time, but I was single for a reason.. I was about to leave for college and wanted to be single so I didnt hold back when I went away to school. Since then its been the same thing.. but we have hung out every once in a while together still to this day for the past eight years.

I don't think that timing is eveything but I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Maybe it was never meant to be for the timing to line up.

Or maybe that was the "test". Whether you chose him, or being single so that you could get your groove on in college.

You chose.

I think timing is such a huge percentage of how things work out. But at the same time, it's not like you guys met and he wanted to date and you were with someone else and never saw each other again - you've both always been around. This leads me to believe that it's not just timing in your case because if you wanted to make it work, you would. It seems like you must have had several opportunities in those eight years. And if not, and you want to make it work, try it NOW!
