NBA Draft 2004

Anybody else not excited about this year's class?

Here is a mock draft I got from another board:

1. Orlando - Emeka Okafor (UConn)
2. Clip Joint - Dwight Howard (high school)
3. Chicago - Luol Deng (Dook)
4. Charlotte - Shaun Livingston (high school)
5. Washington - Ben Gordon (UConn)
6. Atlanta - Josh Smith (high school)
7. Phoenix - Probably a European Center
8. Toronto - Devin Harris (Wisco)
9. Philly - Probably a European player
10. Cleveland - Josh Childress (Stanford)
11. Golden State - Jameer Nelson
12. Seattle - Andre Iguodala (Arizona)

I don't know if Josh Childress will make a impact for the Cavs. This year's draft is not happening.

Just not a good draft year overall...I'm just hoping Okafor and Gordon get picked highly, it'd be nice to have two Huskies in the top 10.

Overall though a weak draft.

Seriously, this draft is very very weak man. Anybody know if there is a sleepers in the draft?

Musing on Dwight Howard

I wonder how this young man is going to be marketed. He's very religious -- I wonder what his "street cred" factor is going to be. And BTW, you don't need to have a criminal record to have street cred. Some have argued that "BronBron" James has it, Shaq continues to have it despite his prominence as a commercial spokesman, and of course, lil' Allen Iverson has more of it making him more popular than T-Mac. I won't touch "Komee Biant." :p
