What should be airbrushed on my car?

Help me out GCers, I'm stuck. Here's the deal, my boyfriend does airbrushing for cars and etc. He's going to do my car to basically advertise it a bit more. So, I'm letting him do my "college car" since he's already doing my Jimmy for my dad.

Here's the prob though, I have no idea what I want on it. I'm completely clueless, so I need some suggestions.

The stats: '94 Plymouth Sundance, sunroof, magenta-glittery pink *it's girly :p*, great condition

This is as close as I could get.

What should be airbrushed on your car?! For real?

I'm going to have to say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is the correct answer to that question. A nice, solid paint job - maybe a thin pinstripe down the sides - is all you need, unless you have a true racing car (meaning, built for the track, not street-legal), and then some stripes/details might be acceptable. But on a Plymouth Sundance - no.

Just my opinion...

"This car should not be airbrushed but my boyfriend airbrushes things and I did it anyway."

Go with an "around the car" wrap kinda look.....

Obviously I haven't seen the work your BF does, but the airbrush jobs I see here are usually just, well, tacky.

Still, when I think of "airbrushing", I can't help but think back to that old Tom Green Show episode where he paints two chicks eating each other out on the hood of his parents' car. The car was named "SLUTMOBILE" and it was indicated in big letters under the rug munchers.

When I think of airbrushing, I can't help but think of those horrible, ugly shirts with unicorns and beaches - mallrats used to wear them in the 80s - or those designs on long, acrylic nails. Tacky does not even begin to describe it.

But, hey, if you INSIST on sacrificing your dignity... definitely go for the Tom Green design!

OK i clicked on this thread because I thought it was a joke.

WOAH!

I just want Rudey to see this. I don't know him, but I have a feeling that only he could have disdain for airbrushing greater than my own.

You guys are being pretty mean. She hasn't even come back on to describe exactly what she means.

sororitygirl2 05-28-2004 06:45 PM

I'm not being mean to her in particular - I don't even know who she is... hell, I don't even know anyone here.

She asked for opinions and we are giving our opinions - that's all. I may happen to have a very strong opinion on this topic, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be as valid or welcome as anyone else's if you solicit advice.

I agree. Guys, Kayla just asked for our input on WHAT to put on the car. If you don't think she should paint the car, then don't reply to this thread! I mean I wouldn't airbrush my car either; but that has nothing to do with what she asked.

Kayla, could you explain more what kind of airbrusing he does? What they look like? That might help us more in letting you know. :)
