"Tear it up" by Yung Wun- Is there frat in the video?

I was watching flipping through the channels earlier today when I saw what I thought was some young ladies strolling in a music video. As I watched, I saw that it indeed was ladies strolling on what appeared to be a "yard" at a college. The ladies were in red and white and were doing the "pyramid" hand sign intermittenly throughout the stroll. Then I saw some young men in purple shirts "hopping" as well and doing the familiar Omega "hooks". The song was called "Tear it Up" by a rapper named Yung Wun (that is how he spelled his name) along with DMX, Lil' flip, and David Banner. I wasn't so alarmed, seeing as though I posted about this before and got into an intersting discussion with a brother of Omega Psi Phi (namely Doggeystyle82) about this issue. But as I continued to watch the video, I saw some young ladies in pink and white with "HK" (I am assuming for "Eta Kappa" -a chapter?) on their shirts doing the "Ivy stance" in front of the porch of the dorm. Then, unbeknownst to me, I see some young men in what appears to be white dress shirts with black and gold ties strolling on the porch:eek: . Then they cut to some young men stepping on the porch in what appears to be "yellow" (not old gold mind you) pants and black shirts. If anyone has seen this video and has info on it, can you confirm if these gentlemen are indeed brothers of the oldest and the coldest fraternity on the planet 3rd of Sun? If so, we are about to have a very interesting discussion on GC!!!!!!!

I haven't heard that they are frat, however, I only just saw the video this week myself. Those guys were the only ones (of the four orgs represented) that didn't have much on by way of positive identification.

I like the song, though.

It is a good song and I can't answer your question either. I did find a link for the video though. It's through a radio station. http://www.102jamzorlando.com/

I love discussions

Let's proceed as if they were actually greek. What would be the focal point of the discussion?

The song is kinda catchy. When I heard it, I was like "dag...this sounds familiar". Then the next week I watched Drumline again, and the band plays this song in their "Bridging the Gap" show. Anyway, I noticed the colors also, I always wonder if these are indeed members of the organizations that they are 'imitating'. There are some pictures floating around Kazodiass of the girls from the Dilated Peoples video. They are indeed members of Alpha Kappa Alpha.

Those are Alphas as well as AKAs, Ques and Deltas!

I was told that nobody was permitted to wear letters in the video. It had something to do with advertising the different orgs. Something like free publicity for all the orgs. involved so they just wore colors.

Yep...from Southern Cali. The other greeks (Omegas and Kappas) in the video are real as well.

And the Tear it Up video...are the HK folks in red and white or pink in white? I know Eta Kappa is the DST chapter at Spelman.

I have seen the video as well and often wondered if the greeks in the vidoe were actual members. The song has a bangin beat, and I turn it up when I'm in the car.

They are actual members. The song (the instrumental) was also featured in "Drumline."

As someone already stated, the Coleman Family and the Phirst Phamily are all represented.

I don't know what's up with the initial poster's TV, but I believe that the ladies with "HK" on their shirt had on WHITE shirts with RED. If I'm not mistaken, those were Eta Kappa Sorors (Spelman) doing the "elephant stroll" and throwing up the 'mid.

Da Bruhs were on the opposite end, the AKAs were in the back throwin' up the ivy wearing pink and green, and the Alphas were in the middle strollin'.

I thought the Alphas were on the 'poche. :D LOL

One of my friends is and Omega and he told me that the Omega's that r in the vvideo are from Morehouse, so it makes sense that the AKA's would be from Spelman. That video is bangin though, I only saw it once but it is that type of song u can't get out of ur head.

Ain't that the truth. I love that song. When I hear it on the radio while in my car, I must TURN IT UP. It's definitely a nod your head to song.
