Well, I just read that this is actually her name, named after a city in Maui. Makena' lei Gordon Carnahan

At least she didn't name her Mabel, a la Mad about You! LOL

Makena is a town on Maui, currently being overdeveloped by rich folk. One of the best surf breaks on the island, IMO.

I'm not too keen on the name. As with any baby given a Hawaiian name, they should have thought about it a little more. You don't give a baby a "Hawaiian" (it's in quotes because Makena'lei isn't even a Hawaiian word) name just because it "sounds good". :rolleyes:

I'm sure the baby girl's adorable, but it's just a pet peeve I have. I think I have a right to be anal just a tad. ;)

Mabel is my great grandmother's name. What's so wrong w/ it???
