Andy Kaufman's alive?
Andy Kaufman once said that if he died, look for his return 20 years to the date of his death because he might be faking it. Most people honestly believed that he died, but as the 20 year anniversary of his death neared, one of his friends decided to throw him a party on that date . . . "just in case." And guess what?
"Andy Kaufman Returns After 20 Years" New York City, NY (PRWEB) May 19, 2004 -- Twenty years ago, on May 16, 1984, most of the world believed that we had lost a comedic legend forever. This has turned out to be what will inevitably be known as the greatest comic prank ever conceived. Andy Kaufman, by all accounts, is alive and well at age 55 and is now living in New York City on the upper west side . . . http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...234/726q1.html I have no idea how legitimate this will end up being -- who knows, it could be another hoax -- but I think it's hilarious. |
Wow that's messed up.

That's amazing if it's really him. I can't believe he's been able to fake his death for the last 20 years.
I wonder what he thinks about the movie about him and REM's song about him. |
One of my (much) older brother's claims to fame is that he met Andy Kaufman in a bar, and they had a drink together. Unfortunately, the jerk with my brother kept harrassing Kaufman about being famous and it didn't last long.

I don't really think it's true, but I don't know...
I do know that all his friends and family were planning a "Welcome Home" party, just in case he did return and make good on his promise. |

The only official news on this was here:
http://www.emediawire.com/releases/2004/5/emw127003.htm As you can see, it's been put "on dispute hold" so I think we'll probably get the truth out of this fairly soon. ;) |
