Anger Management
Have you been told that you need to manage your anger?
Have you ever thought about anger management? Is it really an issue or is it all in our heads? |
No, no one has ever told me to manage my anger.
Yes, I have thought about managing my anger. I know that I can get a little belligerent sometimes, but I control myself. I think that it is an issue. Some people do not know adequate means to watch the way they react to situations. Some people just feel that they have to "explode." They are a danger to society and themselves. I think that some people see those tendencies in children. That's the time to control it and assist so that they don't grow up to be adults that "go postal." |
Yeah, it exists. I probably need to manage mine, but whatever, lol. My friend read this book and he said it really helped him, so he recommended it for me : Angry All the Time. I've not read it yet.

I never really have had anger management issues. Actually I tend to go the other way...when I'm real quiet, it's best to give me some space. My dad had a saying that always rings in my head, particularly when I'm hot about something.
He said: "The less you say when you're mad, the less you got to take back later." ...they've been wise words for me.;) |

I don't think I have anger management issues. However, others told me all my life that I'm one of those types of people to go postal because I'm too slow to anger and when I do anger I get REALLLLLY angry. I disagree, I might go from being really calm to cussing people out or throwing things, but I can't see myself busting a cap, lol. But, I do agree that I need to express my discontent before it gets out of hand.

I went to a psychic when I was in New Orleans last month and she told me to stop being so po'd all of the time. Does that count? I don't like to think of myself as an angry person. I feel like I am really no-nonsense. I have a short tolerance for bs and foolery. When I am angry, it is best not to say anything to me until I cool down. I am aware that I am capable of ripping someone a new one, when I get angry so I try to refrain from speaking when I'm upset. Problems arise when people keep pressing the issue in effort to work it out at that moment, when all I need is time to cool off. Do you all think that the need for a cooling off period is abnormal? What additional "management" is necessary? |

Not really cause according to me I am not the issue. ;) I believe it is real. Anger leads to all kinds of foolishness. |

But in all seriouness, I can get over someone making me angry a lot quicker than someone hurting my feelings. |

To answer the original question.....I believe that over time, I find myself getting upset at small things. I have no idea why, I guess my tolerance for ignorance and rudeness is not very high. Anger is not in anyone's head, it is a reality and it seems that more and more people need anger management. People are stressed out and flip out over small things. We (including myself) have to learn to not sweat the small stuff  |
