Your Dream Job

What's your dream job? What kind of position? Salary? Location?

If you're working right now, do you consider your current job to be your dream job? If not, what could make it better?

My dream job would be as a Senior Level Executive at a major Fashion House or an upscale retail firm. Making $300,000+ and living and working in Philadelphia.

My dream job would be teaching at a year round school, where the children were the main focus of the program. They could learn about God there too. My dream salary would be 150,000.

My dream job is to be director of a counseling center for children and young adults...My salary would be about $200,000...I would be living in Baltimore County, probably working in the city, though, so my office would be easily accessible.....I'm working hard to get there http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

My dream job? I would like to be a hotel critic. Pull in about $100,000 a year, and travel the world, stay in different hotels, and then write a critique on them. I would absosmurfly LOVE that!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

Now that's a dream. Not practical. Practically dreaming (lol), I would like to start my own non-profit. A house for empowering women. We will have counselors on site to assist women with domestic violence, rape counseling, career counseling, premarital counseling, parenting classes, etc. Basically, any need that can be filled for women, will be filled at my House. We will offer classes such as GED courses, SAT prep, GRE prep, interviewing skills, that type of thing.

The thing is, all of this (and some stuff I'm sure I left out) will be free to participants. The catch is, they HAVE to do community service with us (weekly on Fridays) to get the free assistance. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

As far as my salary for this position, it's something that I would do for free, if possible. If not, I would take about $50-75k.

My dream job would be that of a forensic psychologist or crime scene investigator with the FBI. I'm a psychology major and find something absolutely fascinating about the way the criminal mind works. My goal is to be able to study those type of situations up close.

My dream job would be Oprah's job! I'm just waiting for her to retire and call me to take over! Oh and did I mention I would love to have her money too! Or just a fraction of it at least!

You all really have some interesting responses. With the exception of my boy, DM ( http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif), I think those "dreams" should be your career targets.

At the very minimum, you should have a career in something that you enjoy, and if you could do it for free, you would. It is possible to have your dream job and be practical at the same time. And, for some of us whom are given the blessed opportunity to start afresh, your dreams should lead you into your new career (Lady Ideal).

After its all said and done--you shouldn't have many regrets! If its your dream to have a talk show, be a hotel critic, etc...go after it. No dream is too large, nor too small. All things are possible, remember? (Phil. 4:13)

I'm currently working toward my dream job. My dream is to become the VP of Student Affairs at a medium sized private university. I'm a doctoral student and am working in offices pertaining to student financial services, enrollment management, and the like.

I've had jobs doing what I didn't like, and cried nearly every day. I'm looking forward to my new career--I just smile when I think about how wonderful it will be to help make college student's lives smoother. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
