Perpin to Promote
 

On another board I visit someone from a company thought it would be a great idea to put up a link for their new product. The product is something geared towards the Greek Community but it's substandard in nature.

However the name that they created was a name that shows an affiliation with a Black Greek Letter Org. Now outside of the fact that the product that they are offering is bad, which shows an error in judgement, they apparently felt it was OK to make up any name to promote their product.

Have you ever seen or heard of someone Perpin for any personal gain other than people thinking that they were part of a particular org?

I've seen examples of poor quality stuff being sold at conventions, but nothing major.

...wouldn't copyright protection come into play here? Alpha has gotten real stringent lately about allowing the name, insignia and such to be used inappropriately.

(now, watch, your example is probably using Alpha inappropriately, right?)

In terms of para, Zeta has a list of official vendors. I always check that list and if the company isn't on that list I won't buy from them. Why let someone get rich off my sorority??

This is the scenario. Some artist up in Missouri made a song entitled, Y'all N!@@a$ Some Hoes. And wants to pass it off as the Black Frat Anthem.

I wasn't even interested in the song...I didn't listen to it. I'm tripping off of the way laidback tore them a new a-hole...OMG that was 222222222 funny!!! When he told the "perp" to take his pet to the vet...*crackin up* i wasn't no mo good.

being promoted by some perpin clowns trying to make sales. I just hope folks recognize this bootleg isht before sending off their loot. Just say NO!
