What Kind of Protection Do You Use?

ROTFLMAO! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif GOTCHA!

Do any of you own a weapon/product for protection? If so, what kind?

Have you ever taken any self-defense classes?

Miss. Mocha 08-02-2001 09:40 PM

1.) Streetsmarts

2.) Awareness

3.) Prayer.

Not in that order.

I agree with you Miss Mocha...and I also carry Pepper Spray on my keychain. I have yet to take any self defense classes, but I intend to very soon.

I am signed up to take a self-defense class this semester. Hopefully that will be enough..I would hate to have to turn my t-shirt inside out so my letters won't show and give my enemy a good, old-fashioned, hood-rat, azzz whooping!

I know that's right! I USED TO have pepper spray on my keychain, and here's my story: Well one day I was driving with a passenger, and it was summertime so I had the windows up and the AC on. My keys were dangling from the ignition and my passenger grabbed my pepper spray and asked if I have ever had to use it. Before I could answer, SPRAY! She had accidentally sprayed it. It is THE WORST FEELING EVER, and no words can describe how you feel if you are anywhere in the vicinity of some sprayed mace/pepper spray. I just wanted to echo Kimmie's warning, be careful!

That is sooo TRUE, my Sister had a similar situation! So, I am very careful with it and kind of like, practiced using it, in the event an attack or something. Knowing how to/when to use it is very important.

Much Love...Thanks for the warning. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I took a self defense class my seior year of high school right before graduation. It was very informative. A class mate arranged it after we learned that a girl who graduated ahead of us had been date raped in college.
The class focused a lot on street smarts and how to keep your head in an attack. We also learned some physical defensive moves that either were to our advantage being smaller than our attacker or that did not matter if our attacker was bigger. I find I still use alot of it in my everyday life walking through the city being aware of my surroundings.

For the pepper spray peopl/mace people be careful. I hope younever, ever have to use it. Make sure you know the expiration date on it and that you do not fire it into a breeze and inadvertantly disable your self making you more vulnerable to an attacker. It happens all the time.

I'm with dirtymike1906, I thought this was about condoms. That's why it took me so long to finally open this topic. Now that I know the real topic...I haven't taken self defense classes since I was about 11. I carry a swiss army knife in my bag sometimes, not that it'll do much http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
