Man lynched in Mississippi

Washington man found hanging from tree

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WOODVILLE, Miss. -- Family members say a man found Friday hanging from a tree in rural Mississippi had returned home to fight for his family's land.

This man was the cousin of a bruh that I work with. So, so sad. :( He said his friend down in Mississippi said people get lynched all the time down there, and it never makes the news. They are trying to get the word out about this, so I'm passing it on. Because there is a federal investigation pending, the family has not been able to put the body to rest, and it's been 10 days.

Woodville is ONLY like 70 miles from the BRra! but not
I always traveled through there when I came home from school and vice versa. I'll make sure I'm not caught there at night. AAMOF, when THA MAN comes down, he has to come through Woodville! :o Oh my!

I hope the family members are able to get to the bottom of this horrible situation.

Today...today today!
:(

This is sickening. No matter why they did it this just doesn't make any damn sense.

As much as I love the South and are proud to be from Mississippi, this saddens me.

What's even worse is that a co-worker's family (who is black also) is going through the same thing down in Texas (people are trying to take part of her family's land in order to drill for oil). She mentioned that they have been having problems too (nothing physical, just intimidation ).

Make sure you show her this and tell her and her family to be careful.

My youngest brother attends Grambling and when he comes home he travels through Woodville. My mother is making him go through Alexandria from now on.

God bless that poor man's family and friends. You'd think we've evolved past such evil, and then it hits us square in the face again. I have tears in my eyes - I love the south, but the horrible rednecks who perpetrate such hate are a breed unto themselves - a species unto themselves.

It is so hard to be Christian and remember forgiveness at a time lke this... My prayers are with his family.

Wow...I don't have any words for this. :(

This just makes me thankful to have lived to see another day.

Last night I went to go visit my good friend and spec for her birthday down in Colonial Beach, Virginia. I thought about this the whole time. I wouldn't even get out of my car to ask for directions. A sista was SCURRED!!! I do NOT like being in the back woods where there are few to no Black folk. I can't hang. No pun intended. :(
