The VP at the colony I advise had emergency surgery late yesterday afternoon to remove a part of his intestine. He came out of surgery fine and is doing better. Gideon is a really good kid, an older member (joined in February at age 25 - but since they are a colony, they all joined in February), who did a lot of living and left it all to grow up and go back to school and get his degree. I truely admire him for that. He has an amazing outlook for someone who's facing a long battle with an illness and I just ask everyone to keep him in your thoughts.

Does he have Crohn's Disease? Hopefully he will do as well after his surgery as I've done since mine! Over a year in remission now! Sometimes you just have to get the bad parts OUT.

My thoughts will be with him!

Dealing with that all while being a colonist senior officer is almost masochistic. Those intestine surgeries are not good at all. Recovery from them can be pretty hellish sometimes. Hope this time is not one of those.

I will definitely keep your brother in my thoughts...
