Boston Globe on "angry black woman"

Soror Moderators, please feel free to combine this topic or delete this.

Here's a Boston Globe article on angry black women, encompassing a new book, Omarosa, etc. It's still available on a link, which we have to do because of posting issues.

The lead paragraph:

Stereotypes about black women have coursed through pop culture for centuries. They range from the smiling, asexual and often obese Mammy to the promiscuous Jezebel who lures men with her sexual charms. But the one getting a major workout these days is the angry black woman.

She looks pretty grim," Wyatt says. "That's the way people are accustomed to seeing black women in official positions. They look kind of heartless: power-suited but ill-suited for a relationship."

hmmmm.

hmmmm.

Didn't the Boondocks do something speculating on Condi's sexuality or lack of same?

On a tangent, I was reading Vogue's May edition and they had an article on Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Capital Management, a black-owned money management firm. Of course, a big part of the article had to do with Ms. Hobson's singleness (she's 35).
