I bought 3 LV's and a Christian Dior and they are beautiful!

I never understand why ppl buy fakes...it's a ripoff to the original designer, not to mention illegal and pretentious. If they're unaffordable to some, buy a really nice bag by another designer but don't try to pretend to be something you're not.:mad:

Ditto. Fake bags are cheap imitations. If you can't afford a Louis Vuitton (and let's be honest, not many can), buy a super cute Nine West or Liz Claiborne. The people who would actually be impressed by your LV or Dior are the people who know it's fake and are probably rolling their eyes behind your back.

ETA: I just went to check out this site... the prices are still so high! Why waste $200 on a FAKE bag when you could buy a REAL Coach or Dooney and Bourke... or heck, 4 nice bags from a department store!

Yeah I am with the rest of you. Why spend so much on a FAKE? Might as well use the money to buy a real Dooney and Bourke or Coach (which are both excellent quality) or even several Nine West purses.
It's one thing to buy a purse that is designed to look like a popular designer style but to buy one that is meant to actually fool people into thinking it is the designer bag? I've always wondered about the quality of those bags also....since there doesn't appear to be an official maker of them there isn't anyone who can be liable if they turn out to be crap bags, right?

Ahhh...this is one of my biggest pet peeves, I hate fake bags!

I don't have a problem with fake bags--on other people. They can do what they want, I'll have my genuine bag. :D

What does bother me, however, is the co-option of insignia on every damned thing. Louis Vuitton DOES NOT make 'do rags, okay? :mad:

IMO Louis Vuitton and some of those other names are shit with a huge price tag. I've never actually seen a LV I thought looked good. I had tons of friends that insisted on the Dooney & Burke thing too-and they weren't even real leather! If people like this stuff and can afford it, I think that's great, go for it. It's just not my style. You are who you are, not what you have (or can fake having in this case!)

Now if you really DO like a D&B or LV purse and can't afford it and find a replica of sorts that is cheaper, why not buy it. But don't buy a knock off and try to front like it's real. I love the Burberry plaid, and it's easy to find things like that that are not real burberry. But I am not buying it b/c I am trying to front like I own a real burberry bag, I just really really like that pattern. So yeah, I'd buy a knock off or cheaper version. But not because I was trying to rip off that designer. It's like when you buy a white shirt from the Gap instead of Anne Klein. I just buy the one I can afford.

I love LV but if i have to get fake i would rather have the fake trunk/luggage.....its hard to tell if its real LOL......... as for purses I just love my Baby Phat purses and people just compliment me on my purses all the time.......... I am sorry to say but I dont like the rainbow pattern, its so gay and young looking.......I love black with silver or the denimn with diamonds.....

I don't have a problem with fake bags when the real ones cost over 5,000.00. B/c in my opinion at the cost LV is selling their real stuff for they aren't losing a whole heck of a lot of money. Maybe thats just me, but I don't see them going bankrupt.
And I have to say that its kinda like a secret society here. Ifyou're in line at Lazarus or A&F and the person behind you goes "nice purse?" and then you look at their Louis and say "Oh, thank you! I love yours too". Both of you immediately start a conversation "where did you get it?" "was it a good deal". Before you know it you have a new friend!!!!
And you have to also understand that a lot of people don't realize they are fake. On ebay some of those LV are obviously fake - but people still pay 600.00 for it b/c its not the normal 800.00 and it says its real.

Now I will admit I am a b---h about fake Vera Bradley. Seriously, people its not that expensive. When you go to a country store and buy a cute fabric purse and say its Vera Bradley - come on!!!!

Amen! I can usually tell a fake one in about a second. If you can't afford a real one, buy something nice that you can afford. The fake ones only make you look cheap.

it depends. I am very good at spotting fakes, but in the city (as in NYC) you can find nearly identical fakes on the streets. I have a $50 fake LV that is identical in every way to my mother's real one-- except for the inside. Which no one sees. But my aunt has a fake LV that is obvious-- the LV logo is much bigger, the pattern is of whack, and the color is off.

However, its annoying seeing the fake "G"s on fake Coach bags. They aren't so ridiculously expensive that you should need to buy a fake--- and its OBVIOUS its a fake with Gs, when the Coach logo is a C!
