Alumni Costs?

Do alumni pay dues? If so, approximately how much?

moe.ron 04-25-2004 12:19 PM

My fraternity does not have alumni dues.

SoCalGirl 04-25-2004 01:27 PM

Each alumnae chapter sets its own dues above the National Per Capita (less than $20/member). The average SK alumnae annual dues is around $35-40.

We have voluntary alumnae dues for the Fraternity of $30.00 and my particular alumnae club charges $20.00 for the year (although we are in agreement that we need to increase that amount, probably to $30.00).

DGs Alumnae dues (nationally) are $17.50. The Akron Alumnae chapter dues I think are around $20-25.

We have voluntary "remember" (re-member) dues that start at $25 for the year in ADPi.

Alumnae Association dues are completely different, and depend on where you are. My AA (San Diego) have chapter dues of $20 per year.

The Alumnae dues to my closest Alumnae organization is $10 one-time fee & $25 a year after that.

My alum chapter dues are around $40.
My mother's alum chapter dues are $50.

We have no alumni dues. Phi Psi's undergraduate initiation fee includes a lifetime subscription to our magazine, and a badge.

If no dues are collected, how do you pay for alumni events like golf outings?

In our alum. association, we all pay for our own stuff. If we go out to dinner, we all pay for our own meal, etc. My alum. association has dues, I think they're $35 for the year (for an active member), and I think only $15 of that goes to Nationals. Another $10 or $15 goes to our local philanthropy project, and the rest goes to the association for incidental costs.

Are you wanting to have your alum. assoc. pay for everyone's activities?

I don't want anything. I was just curious to see how theirs worked.

The national dues are $10/person (though I think that's being raised to $15).

Our alumnae association charges an extra $15 above that, so the dues paid to us are $25 ($10 of which gets sent into HQ, the leftover $15 is ours).

The only event in which alumnae need to provide extra out-of-pocket payment is our Founder's Day Dinner which is usually at a local country club. Otherwise, all other costs are pretty much covered by dues paid.

Whether a member is part of an alumnae association or not, she is supposed to pay her $10 to HQ.

Alumnae dues are $10 per year or $250 for lifetime dues.

As far as alumnae events go, we each pay our own way.

ETA: Those dues go to National. We have yet to determine local dues.
