can't the movies get along?
 

anyone notice the # of revenge type movies that are out right now?

"walking tall"
"kill bill"
"the punisher"
"man on fire"

they all have the premise that the main character wants many people that have ruined their lives dead...
i saw 'man on fire' today and i thought it was so good. denzel was at his best.
anywho, i just could not help but notice the type of movies that are out. it cant be too good for the impressionable minds out there

What I find is, that someone one comes up with an idea and then everyone else in Hollywood has to make a similar movie/tv show about the idea until it's all played out and another idea comes along.

Very few people in hollywood can come out with an original idea.

Revenge is an easily understod classic motiff. Everyone feels like they have been pissed on, so they like see someone beat down the person(s) that wronged them.

also, the clasic stereotype of the writer is someone with less social skills, kind of nerdy, so maybe they are getting a little of their own angst out in the movies.

I remember one writer that said that you never want to piss off a writer in general, they lay awake at nights thinking of revenge on the people that wronged them.
