FCC to extend broadcast TV's decency standards to cable
I know Rudey will be pissed off about this. Look like FCC want to legislate Cable TV. Many said that this will definately be struck down in the courts. What do you think?

This will never hold up in court, any more than a challenge to Playboy or albums with naughty language would. It's a product consumers choose to buy, and especially HBO. You can't "accidentally" get cable unless the cable company's system is screwed up somehow and they don't cut it off when the previous client leaves the apartment or whatever.
If enough people are against a station they can get their cable company to remove it, but that's the cable company's decision to maintain customer goodwill, not the FCC's. |
In the future there will be only one provider for your entertainment: music, movies, television including cable and soap operas, and radio.
In the future you will have no choice over what you hear. In the future children will be safe because idiot hick parents (from lower class, lower income families) will make sure their children do not hear anything indecent that might be playing during the day (when children are in school) or at night (when children are asleep). In the future you will get your dose of violence from movies such as Passion of the Christ. In the future Oprah will talk about tossing salads and anal sex and the FCC will issue a statement about her being a lovable American icon and will not pursue it thus proving there is no standard. -Rudey --It's sounds like a bad Terminator movie except it's real. |
