Popped collar?

I forget what link I followed that led me to this disturbing fashion trend...but are people REALLY walking around with their shirt collars up again???

It was lame in the 80's and its only purpose was to hide a sucker bite.

I think people are wearing shirt collars up again. I find it, and anything else associated with the 80s, frightening.

dgfromtx 04-22-2004 06:06 PM

why???

gross.

cherrycola 04-22-2004 06:07 PM

I hate that look

All the boys ( not the men) on my campus are sporting the popped collar look, and I can't stand it. It is super slob, especially since they pair it with ratty jeans.

Good grief!

For YEARS, Mr. Silver has been VERY specific about how he likes his polo shirts washed, dried, and finally hung on special hangers with the collar folded down and the top button buttoned....

SUDDENLY, he wants his shirts hung differently with the collars up so that he won't have a crease on his collar line!

I have four little words for my husband....
DO YOUR OWN LAUNDRY.

Wearing your collar up goes great with bermuda shorts, if you're into that sort of thing.

GeekyPenguin 04-22-2004 06:53 PM

We have tons of guys on campus who do this...and I'll do it from time to time with the right polo, like my new lobster one from J.Crew. :D

The 80's are back and with a vengance!!!

Really, I think all the designers are running out of ideas, soon they'll be bringing back the acid wash jeans and leg warmers!!!

Bring it on!!

People from the South aren't allowed to wear it. Only people from the Northeast. Let them know, ok?

I thought it was more '50s than '80s?
