So, this morning I wake up and the sun is shining bright through my window.. I thought I was dreaming since it is usually still dark outside when I wake up.. then I look over at my clock and it says 7:30 am.... after a few choice words, I realize that no, it's not Saturday, and indeed it's Thursday morning and I have overslept. I either turned off my alarm when it went off or totally forgot to turn it on last night.. I still haven't figured that out yet. I am supposed to be at work at 7:30 and yes, I do have a 30 minute commute. I was out the door in 5 minutes, almost running over some neighbor children as I flew out of my garage and down the driveway.... I got to work at about 8:05... only 35 minutes late... or so I thought...I then find out that there was a safety meeting at 7am.. which I also managed to miss.. woohooo.. thank God my boss is cool and wasn't even mad since this is out of character for me... anyone else have a late for work story?
It's funny that you post this because I woke up late this morning too. My boyfriend had set the alarm form 6:45 pm instead of am but luckily I woke up at 7:20. I was annoyed at him at first, but then I felt bad and I told him it was fine. I'm supposed to be at work at 8 am everyday but luckily for me I work in a small office and everyone usually roles in between 8:20 and 8:40. If I worked at a place that was very strict about being on time I would be in big trouble. I feel for you having to be at work at 7:30 am. I would never be able to do that.

Yeah, it's the ultimate "that sucks story." I took a math class that met in the mornings and then I went straight to work. Typically I woke up at 6:30-7 for my 8 am class, and I set my alarm correctly (for around 7) the night before. However the lovely folks at Alabama Power found it appropriate to do powerline work very very early in the morning. Hence my alarm did not go off. Not only did I miss a *test* in my class, but I was 20 minutes late for work! I did sleep well, though.

Sleep is always good, but it sucks when you called to work at 130 in the morning becuase of Tornadoes that have to come and hit Illinois cant Tornadoes find a better time to hit us? Guess not, Im now going on about 10 hours asleep for the last three days. Hoep I dont over-sleep tommorrow for work.

Well, I hope you and everyone you know, as well as your houses, cars, etc are ok after that tornado. How sad. :(

Thanks for the concern. We lost a total of 15 people so far. We cant find around 20 people and the rest of the population in the towns are without homes. But all are fine (if you can say that i dont know why people say that). I did get some sleep but I was late for work, cause of car trouble. Like I said I will be late for my own wedding.

Another "that sucks story"

Yesterday my boss asked me to stay an hour later to go to a meeting with her. I was suppose to leave at 1 but finally got out of work at 2, drove straight home to change, eat, and study for my exam at 4. For some odd reason I lost complete track of time and thought my class started at 5. I left the house at 4 and when I got to school around 4:20 (hehe) I realized my mistake and booked up to the room. The professor was only going to let us take 40 minutes for the exam so I had 10 minutes left. Needless to say I was pretty worked up about it and thankfully the professor has been nice enough to let me take it next week. Still havent figured out what caused my momentary lapse in memory but I still feel horrible about it.

Just the other day, I woke up one morning for work feeling unusually well rested... looked at the alarm clock and it wasn't 7am, it was 9am. Good thing the cops weren't out that morning...

A few years back, I was on a weekly travel schedule for work. I had to catch a flight every Monday morning at 8am. So one Monday, my alarm clock started going off and I slept right through it... until finally my husband shook me awake and said "It's 7am." I said "so what?" He said "You have to catch a plane at 8." I jumped out of bed, got dressed, grabbed my suitcase, hailed a taxi, and unbelievably, made my flight. That weekend I bought a new alarm clock.

Then there was the time I forgot to set my alarm and showed up for a final an hour late... luckily the prof was very understanding and let me stay an hour after time was called. *whew*
