Please give me your suggestions!
I am the new philanthropy coordinator for my chapter. As of right now we do not have a fall philanthropy that the other sororities and fraternities want to be involved in. Last fall we had Halloween themed events, but only three fraternities signed up to participate. Needless to say we did not raise any money that way. I want to come up with a philanthropy that will become known on our campus that the whole greek system will want to be involved in. We are sticking with the halloween theme because that is the week we have to do it. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it, I have come up with a few ideas, but would like some outside imput. Thank you so very much!!!

Gamma Tau (WGa) does a Rose and Raffle every year. I know that the roses are sold, lol, not sure about what the raffle part is but if you are interested, let me know and I will put you in connection with the Philo Coord!:D
They also raised a bunch of $$ with the Rock-a-thon (rocking chairs in front of the library) and bowl-a-thon. They did quite well with a golf tourney for a couple of years or so and then quit. Another sorority now has one and does well. |
every year we do the Miss-Ter Western pageant. The Miss should give you a clue-
fraternities and sororities enter men into the pageant and the men do three rounds of a beauty pageant- Letters wear Talent Formal wear. The thing is they do in in women style clothing- usually with wigs and such- It is really funny, a lot of fun and pretty popular. We charged like a $75 entry fee and a $3.00 per person to attend fee. We also did a joint philanthropy project with the JDF and they donated some of the funds back. I am almost positive Theta Iota made Jewel Chapter this year. |
There's a whole section of GreekChat devoted to community service and philanthropy. Lots of ideas.

Also at Convention there is usually a handout of successful fundraisers that other chapters have held. Remind your Chapter President to pass it on to you!
