"sex and the city" on TBS?!

i think it is a little weird. the entire series will premiere on june 15th.

It's going to be heavily edited. I think Kim Catrall once joked that Sam would be completely edited out! :D

that is my point. why bother to air it?

Because some people don't have HBO and cannot afford the DVDs?

YES.

Or it could be because of people like me who didn't really give a isht before and want to find out what the hype was all about.

It's cool that they'll be showing SATC for people who haven't been able to see it otherwise. The show will lose a lot by having so much edited, though.

I can't imagine the show edited. Part of the reason the show was so successful was because the 4 women spoke so candidly. There's going to be a lot of editing when it goes into syndication on TBS!

what i am saying is that wouldn't the show lose it originality and appeal, if a lot of things are edited out?

I don't see what the big deal is. I am sooooo sorry I chose not to be cool to watch it the first time around. :(

If there are those who want to watch it despite the editing, they will watch it.

If there are those who don't want to watch it because of the editing, then don't watch it.

Maybe it'll get those people to watch it who didn't want to watch it before b/c of all the sex/cussing/whatever (like my mom), and they'll realize that there's actually a plot.

But I agree, it's going to be a lot of editing.

33girl 04-18-2004 11:52 PM

I completely missed the hype. I don't have HBO. I've watched maybe 2 episodes and was like "so they say vagina over & over....so what?" Maybe the eps I saw were bad - I remember one was w/ Carrie falling down in the fashion show and I thought it competely sucked - but I just don't understand the appeal.

If it can't hold up after editing the sex and cussing out maybe it wasn't that good to begin with.

Geez, why bother? By the time they edit them, all episodes will fit into one half - hour show!!!
At least I HOPE they are heavily edited. Sometimes there is a good reason to put things on premium cable...
