MOTHER's DAY

What are you giving/buying your mother?
If you are a mother what would you like?

I usually give my mother clothing. She says I dress her young, and she likes that.

My mother has to be THE hardest person to shop for. But I decided to make a basket this year. Now the trick is to figure out what to put in it.

Since, I'm not in the same city with my mom I'll probably just send her a card.

My mother got the best Mother's day gift: Her U.S. citizenship!!!
I am so proud of her. :)

That's my MOMMY!

I think I am going to cook a big dinner and invite some folks over. This will be my last time spending Mother's Day at my parents house b/c I am getting married in August. So, next year, I will probably just get her a card and pay for a day of beauty.

Thank you for the congrats. She showed me her certificate and of course, we will shop for a frame to put it in. She even registered to vote. She is determined to get Bush out of office.

I have a question for all the GC Mommy's: Were any of you ever pregnant on Mother's Day? This is the case with me. I'm pregnant with my first child and I was wondering if I was wrong to want a little recognition on Mother's Day. BTW, my best friend will also be pregnant on Mother's Day and would it be appropriate to get her a little something?

I see nothing wrong with you as Mom to be getting recognition or a gift on Mother's Day! And if I am correct whether you give or receive flowers (only while pregnant that is) on Mom's Day the appropriate color should be pink!:D ;)

Don't know what to get my Mommy. Don't know what I want for myself (I'll come back later with a response).

I'm quite sure that Hallmark carries Mother's Day cards for the Mother-to-be. :D

Yes, it would be appropriate to give something for your best friend. As a matter of fact, collect all the gifts you can now before the baby showers. Moms-to-be are often neglected during that time b/c the gifts are for the coming baby.

Pink will be a most appropriate color, especially since you are having a baby girl. :D :D

jll79 - congratulations to your mom and big ups to her for registering to vote (and helping to get Bush out of office)!!! :D :D
