Recruitment Video

For Fall recruitment 04, sororities are making rush videos once again. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to great songs that they've used for the soundtrack. In the past, we've done Lean on Me and Living on a Prayer. I'd love to hear of some good, appropriate songs that can sum up the Greek experience. Thanks so much!

I think it'd be most effective to use songs that already HAVE meaning to your chapter, but "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" is always a popular one.

Our newest chapter song is "Home" by Chantel Kreuvitz (sp?). We had some girls sing it at Pref, and we all sobbed.

Also, you can look and see if DJ $crilla has a song about your organization.

In our last rush video, the historian used a country song... I don't know who it's by or what it's called... but the chorus is something like "this one's for the girls" and it goes on about girls at the age of 13, 25, 40+ etc. If anyone can shed some light on it, it's a cute song.

Some suggestions:
* "I Turn to You"- Christina Aguilera
* "Can't Hold Us Down"- Christina Aguilera
* "Time After Time"- Cindy Lauper

Madonna- I'll Remember
Beatles- With a Little Help from my Friends

The song from Friends, I'll be there for you by the Rembrandts... Ok... that is the only one not on the list so far I can think of...

The song ChiDeltaJen is talking about is "This One's For the Girls" by Martina McBride. It's cute :)

Our chapter has started to use Whitney Houston's "Call on Me" and I think used "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill too.

We did the same but with the song, "Circle of Friends" by Point of Grace. We slightly modified it to fit our needs though...for example, a line normally says, "we have one father" (it's a religious song)...and we changed it to "we are all sisters"

It was very touching.

It's Martina McBride's - This One's For The Girls...

This might be VERY dated, since I'm an oldie now, but all the sororities on our campus used to sing "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge and it held a lot of meaning to us. Of course, we'd get into competitions with other sororities by changing the words slightly to "We are AGD" or "We are Sigma Three" or "We are AZD" and trying to outscream each other with that line... those were fun times :D

Also the Gilmore Girls theme song, it's by Carole King, I think it's called "Where you Lead" or something like that.
