Which is Worse? 4/16/2004
Let's say that you are driving to visit a friend of yours who lives in another state. You went onlne to get directions and have followed them to a T. Then you suddenly notice:
Of the following choices, Which is Worse?: A. You've driven two hours in the wrong direction. B. You're coming up on a traffic jam and there is a three hour delay. Just make a choice from the options above or watch from the stands. |
I think "A" because u have to turn around and 2 hours will only get you home. Then you still have to drive the amount of time it takes to get to where you wanted to go in the first place. With "B" you at least know you are going the right way.

I have done both. So to choose which one is the worse, A.

I would definitely be more upset to find out I had been driving in the wrong direction for two hours because that would mean two things: 1. I'm late; and 2. It's my fault! Both things would be unnerving. A traffic jam is annoying, but it can't necessarily be helped. Also, considering I have the misfortune of possessing a dismal sense of direction, I know how it feels to be off course and it drives me crazy  !!! On the other hand, in a traffic jam I can sit back, listen to some music, and try to ignore the shouts and unpleasant hand gestures exchanged between the cars .
|
The second one is worse. If I drove in the wrong direction at least I am moving.
Makes me feel better to be moving. |
I agree with James - to me the second one is worse. I like driving around, so if I drove the wrong way, yeah I'd be annoyed, but driving listening to music relaxes me. Being stuck in a traffic jam for three hours not moving  it makes me cringe just thinking about it!!!!!

Traffic jam is definitely worse. Either way though I'm heading for the first available exit that leads back to my house.
