Last Night's The O.C.

Okay, Marissa was all depressed about Luke and her mom, so Summer and Seth try to cheer her up by redecorating her room (she still hasn't unpacked any boxes) without her knowing. Caleb asks Marissa for her blessing because he's going to propose to her mom. Sandy and Jimmy are turned down for a liquor license because the head liquor board guy was one of Jimmy's former clients and lost $250,000 because of Jimmy swindling it. SAndy swallows his pride and asks Caleb to try to take care of the mistake (the liquor board guy won't give them the license unless Jimmy backs out of the restaurant). Summer and Seth, meanwhile, are redecorating Marissa's room and have a touching moment looking through an old yearbook (Summer asks Seth, "Was I mean to you?" and Seth says, "No, because that would have meant you talked to me."). Luke decides to move to Portland with his dad and just wants to talk to Marissa to say goodbye. Caleb proposes to Julie Cooper, and Kirsten gets drunk - she also starts to sense something's going on with Haley and Jimmy. Luke shows up at the restaurant reception drunk and takes off when Julie gets propsed to. He gets trashed and wraps his vehicle around a telephone pole and ends up in the hospital. Marissa goes and sees him and says goodbye. Caleb blackmails Marissa into moving in with him and her mother after the wedding in exchange for him paying her dad and Sandy millions of $$$s for the restaurant (he makes her think her dad won't be able to get the restaurant without her help).

Wow! Thanks! My vcr isn't working, and I had to work until 12:30am...

Definately have to get it fixed before the next episode!!!

my favorite luke line from the episode:

"Welcome to Portland, bitch"

aahhh how far we've come since episode 1.

Can we rename this thread and make it the "official" O.C. thread? It's hard to search for it when you can't search for words with less than three letters.

Anyways, I want to discuss tonight's episode. It was awesome! I totally called it about Marissa finding out and the whole Teresa being pregnant thing being linked to Ryan. In the previews for next week's episode (season finale! :( ) they show Marissa dancing with Ryan at the wedding reception (which, by the way, do you think that Julie Cooper is really going to marry Caleb, or do you think the wedding won't happen and they'll have the reception anyways?) and she says, "I totally understand why you have to do what you're going to do." So it implies that he's going to leave with Teresa maybe? Or....I don't know what else to think.

Thoughts?

Right now this is the only comment I have:

I love Adam Brody and want to marry him!

hahaha. Loved this quote:

[Seth]: I don't want to leave the hotel. I love the hotel. I want to marry the hotel. I want to have little gambling addict alcoholic children with it.

Oh, Marry me! We'll have loads of sarcastic children with outta control wavy hair.

I'm just happy as a clam that Seth spoke out against trucker hats. Maybe people will finally stop wearing them since The OC says it's over.

I AGREE!!

Ditto on the Seth love and the anti-trucker hatness. I'm seriously laughing or "awww"-ing the whole time Adam Brody is on screen. I love that boy.

WCUgirl 04-29-2004 02:18 PM

Okay, here's my new theory.

Teresa is scamming Ryan. I think Eddie might be in on it, too. Why else would she run to Ryan instead of her mom? I don't know. The whole thing is just weird. I'm pretty sure that the baby (if there even is one) will end up NOT being Ryan's.

I am so angry. I cannot believe they ended the season the way they did.

UGAnchora 05-05-2004 10:50 PM

Was anyone else screaming "ITS NOT YOUR BABY!!" at the screen?

Bueller?

Ok.

Seth Cohen/Adam Brody- I love you. Marry Me.

YES YES YES!

I was so mad. I guess I said that already though.

Okay, maybe it's because it's that *emotional* time right now, but I did cry. I CANNOT believe that the wedding did happen, and that Ryan left. I mean, obviously he'll be back for season 2 (he HAS to be, right?!), but....ugh it just makes me so mad!!!

I'm also mad that Marissa did end up moving into that house with....HER (her being Julie Cooper). I hope she leaves Caleb once she realizes he's broke. And I hope it's brought out into the open more about her relationship with Luke.

anyone else notice how marissa seems to manage to find uglier dresses each week? and sorry, but i can't stand her acting.

but overall, i'm obsessed with the show. i love seth.

MeLikey 05-06-2004 01:15 AM

I was hoping that Ryan was going to come back at the very end to Marisa, but no such luck! I've gotta say that when Seth was trying to choose between Anna and Summer, I was rooting for Anna, but I really like Summer now.
