What is your local or favorite radio station giving out this month?

I listen to 106.1 KissFM here in Dallas and they are giving away 20 cars in 20 days. All you have to do is listen in the morning for the "song of the day" and at what time it is supposed to be played. When you hear it between the hours they say, be caller 106 and win your choice of either a mustang convertible or mazda miata convertible. Today is the 9th day and everyone who has won has taken the mustang. I have been trying like crazy to win, but I cannot for the life of me ever get through  . Today's song is "ain't if funny" by JayLo between 2-3PM, I WILL WIN :p

they have been giving out K.Lo concert tickets. She is having a show at the local Six Flags on saturday. That's been the big thing.

The other thing they are doing is something called Cash or Crash. Between the hours of 7am and 7pm, someone calls in and guesses a number between 100 and 1000. If the number is too high or too low, they don't get anything... except a t-shirt. If the person in the next hour gets the right number, they get that amount of money in cash. So basically you have a 1 in 1000 chance of winning. But each hour people narrow down the numbers... so if someone guessed 345 and it was too high, you who know the number is under 345.

92.3 extreme radio was here on campus yesterday giving out cool stuff such as water bottle, key chain, cd. plus, they have a sign up for winning a pair of tickets to the extremefest this july wich feature Godsmack and others.

Money.

The local contest here is called "Beat the Banker." Someone calls in and a "teller" starts spouting out amounts, like $50, $63, $99, $146 and when it gets to the amount you want, you have to tell them to stop. But if you get too greedy and wait too long, your account will close and you don't get diddly. (well, I think a t-shirt). The most I heard anyone win was $1100 or so, but she also started at $800. The numbers change with each new caller and they play it 8 x a day.

I mostly listen to NPR. They don't give much away except during pledge drives -- when I don't listen to them. Even though we do pledge.

I listen to NPR a lot as well. Not much to give away. Sometimes listen to local sports shows, but never really call in. Every once in awhile they'll have tickets to a Sooner football game (pretty tough ticket to get unless you know someone).

They do something like that 'round here. It's on 95.5 The Beat. It's called "Beat the Buzzer." There's a ticking sound in the background as the recorded voice starts with "Ninety-five dollars" - everyone gets at least that much no matter what. Then it goes on and the ticking gets faster and faster until it buzzes. If you stop it before the buzzer, you get the last full amount announced. The top prize is $10,000 which like two people have ever gotten. To get that, you have to let the buzzer run all the way out...and it doesn't ALWAYS go to $10,000!

There's trick to it though...you can tell when the buzzer's about to go off if you pay close attention to it.

*Edited because I quoted the wrong person!! Oops!*

we also have free gas Fridays for 106 minutes. you have to listen at a certain time to know where that gas station will be. so, its not really a call-in contest.

the 20 cars in 20 days for today is over. i didn't win :(

WQYK 99.5 The local country station is not giving out money, but it's something that I've been trying to win for days! Kenny Chesney tickets for his May 6 concert here in Tampa. I really wanna win!
