Disney College?
Hey everyone....
So I got up today, read our student newspaper and decided to interview for an internship with Disney down in Florida...... Now I'm just curious...... 2 questions for ya'll..... 1)Has anyone gone through (or know someone that has) the program and if so...what did you/they think of it?? ::shrugs:: I don't even know if I'll get accepted, but I think he seemed pretty impressed with the fact that I speak 3 languages ::laughs:: 2)If i get the position, this means I'll be gone this fall....my friends are getting married this November...if I can't get the weekend off to fly back up here.... :-\ Thats the MAIN thing that's holding me back....what's your opinion on that? On one hand......they are both once in a life-time opportunities.....and on the other, one lasts 6 months and could get me a good job further down the line and one lasts a day......::sighs:: I could always apply again for the Spring, but if i get hired on and the tell them I can't....i'd guess that my chances for rehire for the spring are gonna be TINY! i had 2 friends that did it for a summer out here in CA like 3 years ago...all they did was work in the disneyland park and get to live with a bunch of other college students from across the country...
i went to visit....i didnt see anything productive or educational going on...but it looked like fun. |
One of my cousins did that program a few years back and she LOVED it.
I have a bunch of friends who are doing the program in the fall and currently, so far, the ones who are currently participating in the program relly enjoy it. It can't hurt to mention the wedding in november during an interview or whatnot of sorts. just ask it in the way of "how are you with previous committments" or whatnot. are you IN the wedding, or just attending? that could make a difference too. just a though :) best of luck!! :) |
Sounds pretty cool. Where can I get some more info or possibly sign up for disney college?

I interviewed for it and was accepted twice.... to serve fast food. Who wants to spend a semester doing that? I decided I'd rather spend a semester abroad in Australia learning than working fast food and "learning" from Disney employees. Everyone I know who has done it has served hot dogs and has come back completely jaded about Disney. That's all they talk about and have Mickey stuff all over the place.
Another thing is the pay. You get like $6.50 an hour, but housing is expensive, and almost all of your paycheck goes towards housing. Everyone I know who has done it has had to pay a lot out of pocket for food, living, etc. Personally I'd say you'd be better off doing a corporate internship with them or someone else. |
