The Irony Of Airline Flying According To Another Board

Quote:

I recently flew from Seattle to Amsterdam with Northwest Airlines. Prior to takeoff after the usual safety speach, we were told that due to security concerns we had to stay in our seats unless using the lavatory and there shouldnt ever be more than one person in line for the lav. at any one time. The ironic part was that they then went on to talk about the dangers of deep vein thrombosis.

Anyone else had a similar experience? What gives?

Isn't that what killed David Bloom? What a great reporter he was, God bless him.

WTF?!?

I know there is the 30-minute security rule on all flights taking off from or into DCA (Washington National Airport; I refuse to call it Reagan National simply because The Great Communicator ain't dead yet!). No one may leave their seats 30 minutes after departure or 30 minutes before arrival. Violations result in an immediate divert to IAD (Washington Dulles) or BWI (Baltimore-Washington International) and thorough security check. Flight crews must have the designated entry code for the day to approach DCA's traffic pattern.

Wow that's freaking scary. What if you reeeealy had to go right after takeoff or before landing? I'd be searching out a plastic cup, I guess :)
