Wild Ride or Settled Life
Which would you prefer: a wild, turbulent life filled with joy, sorrow, passion, and adventure, full of intoxicating successes and stunning setbacks; or a happy, secure, predictable life surrounded by friends and family without such wide swings of fortune and mood?
(Today I placed a different question in each forum of the D9 Sororities.) |
My life has already been as turbulent as I ever want it to be so I'd vote for the settled and predictable for a while. It would be nice to be around the family, just pay bills and enjoy my friends without any drama. I gave up drama for lent about three years ago so the drama free diet necessitates settling down.

I would take the first life because without the downs how would you recognize the ups?
|
I wanna know...is there a median to this answer? Can I have a little bit of both? I agree with Intense1920 because without the downs you certainly would not appreciate the up times in your life. However, for the sake of the question, if I have to choose, I would choose life #2 - no setbacks, etc.
|
I want a little bit of both, but I know that was not a choice. So I'll say this, there is a time and place for everything and now while being a college student I could go for #1. But in a few years after I graduate, I could see myself settling down in the life style of #2.
|
I would choose the first life. To me a predictable life would be sorrowful. I would love to be around my family, but not having anything new to look forward to would be terrible to me.

I don't know. Although the first is REALLY tempting, my life is more along the second and I can't say that it is horrible. Though I have vaguely experienced the "wild" side of life, I have vicariously seen that side through others. Though at times I envy that they have had all these experiences, they don't always seem "happy." Never settling down, life like a rollercoaster, etc. takes its toll. If life #1 wouldn't allow me to have the family life and lots of personal relationships with friends, then I would turn my back on that anyday.

I've had the wild exciting life for the last 12 years------------------------------------------------------------(few sorry about that, i just had one hell of a flash back). but now i'm ready for a more settled life ( probaly has something to do with the most wonderful woman who's in my life now)

Well, I've been on this Earth for over 30 years now and I've already experienced most of #1. Right now, I'm working on #2 - too old for senseless drama. :)

#1 - BT, DT
#2 - Working on that one... |
Life #1 for the reasons listed above. You can't TRULY enjoy sunshine, if you've never experience rain...and even rain has its good sides. (Good naps, romantic dates, lol.) Some of my most stunning and heartbreaking 'setbacks' have ultimately just been successes waiting to happen!

This is an easy one for me. I would definitely chose life number 1. The first choice did not say that I would have to live without family, friends, and loved ones. I consider myself to be very spontaneous, and I love challenges and taking risks. Therefore, I know I would be very unhappy/ bored living the second life. I've always learned better through life experiences, which includes the ups and downs, accompanied by the emotions of feeling happy, sorrow, passion, etc... Besides, like a few already said, how can you appreciate your blessings if you don't go through the trials/tribulations to understand and accept what you have been blessed with? |
