A problem that needs a solution...PLEASE READ
 

OK here it goes....

I love my girlfriend to death, but sometimes she just dont think. She recently went on her NSO and when she returned she brought me a gift. One of the gifts happened to be little magnets with symbols of the fraternity I am interested in. Her claim is that she didn't know that i was that interested..because when she showed me the gift I snapped on her. (Something I later apologized for.) I think I hurt her feelings because i could not accept the gift...but that has too much bad karma surrounding it for me. I am not normally superstitous (sp?) but I know that keeping stuff like that could not only cause me to be blacklisted as a perp but also beatdown. I know 2 men closely who are members of this organization one a cousin who I admire and the other a former teacher and mentor. I think I should give it to them and then just make up a story. I know I have not earned the right to possess such things. I just cant believe she said she didn't know how serious I was..when I researched term paper style on the fraternity and read the Divine Nine from cover to cover a first for me ever in my lifetime. Has anyone ever encountered or heard of such situations? Any suggestions how to rectify this peacefully and DISCREETLY?

I think you should return it. Explain to her that you haven't been accepted to that chapter yet. You may find a different chapter you want to belong to and this gift could cause problems. I just feel that you shouldn't own greek stuff until you become greek. Even if you are in high school or whatever and know what chapter you want you still shouldn't buy those greek letters whatever the item may be. Hopefully your girlfriend will understand.

I cant return it to the store where she got it because it is in another state. But I think the best solution would be to give it as a gift to one of the 2 guys I know and tell them then honest truth.
