I will never forget the time..................

I saw this post in another forum and thought it was cute. What do you cherish most about your greek experience? What memory of/with your sorors/frat can always put a smile on your face when you think about it? What sacrifices or acts of love have sorors/frat shown you throughout your experience?

I have so many, lol! Let's see...

I always smile when I walk into my house and see some of the gifts I was given. My favorites right now are my first 4 frogs. A soror that I met here on GC and I were talking about collecting stuff, and I told her that I didn't have any frogs. The PHIRST time that I met her, she brought me two frog candles and two ceramic frogs. I LOVE them!!! I smile everytime I walk in the door and they greet me! I named my ceramic ones Beulah and Lillie. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

My sister is not a Delta, but she knew how much it meant to me. So, the night I crossed she waited at my house and got my mom to call her when we were on our way home fom the ceremony and when I walked in she had set up a little party. With cake and all this Delta para. She bought everything you could imagine. I was so happy that I could share this experience with her in some way. It meant a lot to me, because she doesn't get into the greek thing.

A moment that always makes me smile when I think of it is the first time I was called "Soror". I can't explain, ya just gotta feel me on that one.

One of my most memorable moments was the dinner after our ceremony. We took up 6 tables and had our own "pink and green" section of the restaurant. We were given every thing you could think of that said "AKA" including jackets with the letters embroidered down the front. I was still getting used to the fact that I had finally jumped over that pink and green broom, so I LOVED that night!

I wanted to do something creative with our colors for my prophytes birthday. So I baked her a cake and frosted it pink. She burst out laughing and almost dropped the knife when she finally cut it and saw that the middle was green. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif (Food coloring works wonders! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif) I always smile when I think of that!

The one thing that I appreciate most is the love that is shared between sorors. You dont have to even know each other, but you will be there for each other in a heart beat.

This just happened yesterday......

I got some bad news which really upset me. I was at work at the time and I really needed to talk to someone. What surprised me was the fact that my initial reaction was to contact my LS (via email)who's in another state. I usually run to my mom or best friend. She immediately took on my own problem as her own (she was genuinely upset). She was so comforting and supportive that it made me feel instantly better. She reassured me that everything was going to be ok.
Late last night she called just to check up on me. It felt so good to hear her voice. When I hung up the phone, I thought about how, while I had already went to sleep, she was still up thinking about me!
Although this just happened, this definitely will be something I'll never forget.
**Thanks for being there Mela http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif**

When I was told that I had gotton accepted, I did not have all of my money. I had given some of it to a friend. I really didn't think the process would happen that fast. Anyway, my friend who was already an AKA called to see if everything was going ok. I broke down and told her that I did not have all of my money. She told me that someone needed to use the telephone and that she would call me back. I had to go to class, so I could not wait on her to call me back. When I got on campus, people "sorors" discreetly walked up to me and shook my hand. Yep, you guessed it! They came through for me, and I was just a wanna be. I remember wondering how could they have known that fast. Everytime I think about that I smile. Whenever there is a new line, I always check to see if everyone has everything needed. If not, I always try to lend a helping hand.

Now that is special! God worked it out because your desire was there to join this sorority! God is definitely on time through people! They really wanted you http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif which I'm sure made you feel very confident and special.

One of the most memorable times of being a Kappa happened the night I crossed. Once it was all over, I turned to find one of my mentors right there. He hugged me and gave me the grip. He was so excited for me and he welcomed me with opened arms into the brotherhood. Also, the very first time I went to see for academic advising he gave me the grip after the appointment was over. It's nice to share a bond with someone you look up to and admire.
