Too old to Theta?
 

HI! I am a transfer student-or will be in the fall. I moved out of state, and now I don't know ANYONE! My aunt suggested I rush Theta since she was one at UC. I started to last semester and then my sister died so I took a semester off. I was wondering if I am senior (who's a semester behind!) should I still rush? Or will the other girls think I am too old?

I think it just varies from campus to campus and how many spots the chapter has left to fill. I was a transfer student to EKU when I went through recruitment, I was a 22 year old Junior who was behind (I went alum last May and graduated this past December(because I didnt need a full load to graduate so I was a part time student last fall). Anyways, I was 22 and I got in. However I know I most likely wouldnt have at my previous school. It just depends on the school and the chapter. There are several threads about this in the Rush forum. They may be worth checking out :) Good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

We had two girls who were over 24; one was a junior, and one was a senior. I agree that it depends on the chapter, but I think if it's something you are interested in, you should really consider it! Good luck, and keep us filled in on what you decide!

YAY!!! Just to let you guys know, Shallen's aunt found me on my Theta chapter's site & "introduced" me to Shallen. She is coming here to school and I get to keep an eye on her :D

dEAR Theta members,
i am currently a student and i am really interested in becoming a sister in your sorority. i was wondering if you girls have any ideas on rushing and proving that i want to be a member of their organization. We had rush on tuesday night and it was so great, i swear the girls were so friendly and so awesome, they are a great group of girls. I wwas just wondering if you have any tips or techniques or what you are looking for in new members. I mean i really want to be a member of your organization, but then i think that my GPA might effect their decisions on letting me in because i only have a 2.08. But yea i just want to say to whoever is on here your organization is awesome and i hope to become a member of it sometime soon..

The very best thing to do is be yourself!! Don't ever try to "act" a certain way because you think a GLO is looking for something particular. That's fake and won't help a bit. Just take a deep breath and smile!
