After some thought, I emailed BSPhi's membership contacts from the national website... I'm going to make the plunge and look into a local group to join-- I hope that there's one in the Boston/South Shore Mass. area. :)

I am a member of Tau Beta Sigma (band professional sorority) as a collegiate member, but I always wanted to join a more social/community minded group that wasn't quite as specialized as TBS (or as small, which is both a good and bad thing at times). Plus, the alumni-active connection in TBS just never seems to work well, and I find myself wanting to be involved in an active sisterhood. In college I didn't have the time to join any of the National organizations, having committed to TBS. I was thrilled to find that I didn't miss my chance to join a diverse sisterhood.

Anyway... I wanted to introduce myself and say hi to everyone. My name's Melissa. I'm 29 and live in the southern metro-Boston, Mass. area.

I can relate to your experience. I am joining Beta Sigma Phi (we started a chapter for women in their 20s in Toronto). I was looking for a sorority like this in university and never found it. I'm so glad that I did now. I'll love it, it is truly unique!

Hi, Melissa!! I'm in western Massachusetts. There aren't very many chapters in this part of the state, but I know that there are some in the Boston area! I think they are fairly active, too.
