Bra advice!
Ladies,
OK so my chapter's formal is this weekend. My dress makes it impossible for me to wear a regular bra or even a strapless bra. What about the backless bras, like you use the adhesive to put on? I looked at some in Dillairds and Sears yesterday. Do these work? If so, how well? Do they support well? Thanks in advance! :D |
I had one of the adhesive ones for prom, and it stuck so well that it took awhile to get off:D ...i actualyl got one from Victoria's Secret, which might be more expensive, but i would pay a little extra money so my chest wont fly out or be exposed or something drastic like that....My friend had one from Foleys, though, and it stayed on great.

I've never used them before. They don't look like they work on very large chests either.
My only suggestion would be to by some and test them out |
I have fairly large chest and once I had to use the stick-um bras things. Honestly, they don't really work on their own, but if you reinforce with (gasp!) duck tape they are okay. Definitely not the most supportive but okay if your boobs are at least partially perky!

also you could forego the sitck-ums and just use duck tape. I hear that's what hollywood stylists make the girls do!

Well I have an average chest...around 38B, if that helps. I'm thinking reinforcing it with duct tape might work. I just don't like the idea of duct tape over my boobs!

i suggest not getting a strapless backless bra that resembles a corset... because it feels like one. I don't have a huge chest so I probably would have been better off without it because i felt like my ribs were crushing. |
guys, i have an large chest and it worked for me. Yes, it felt very weird, but it stayed on and everything stayed in place. My friend who wore the one from Foleys wears a C and it worked well for her. I think youll be fine, sairose.
|
Suprisingly, they don't work very well on very small chests either. I got one for Mr. Ginger's formal Christmas work party, and I couldn't get the damn things to stick on because they were shaped wrong for my not-so-prevalent chest.
|
Well I think I'll take a chance on the one I saw in Dilliard's. I'll let y'all know how it works! :D

I am a D/DD cup and a former Victoria's Secret employee. I can tell you from my experience as well as the 100's of others I sold their strapless/backless bra to - IT WORKS! It works so well that I won't even try anyone else's. I love it and it held me in for a wild night at my last formal. It does help if you have someone help you put it on. My roommate was nice enough to help me put it on as I held the girls in place! ;)

I'd recommend spending the extra money and getting the backless bra that is cups with tape on the sides.
I got the sticky ones for my bf's sister's wedding and they weren't comfortable to dance and move around in. And After 15 minutes in a hot shower, they still hurt coming off! And they left that band-aid-type stickiness that never seems to go away.... Not a pleasant experience. good luck! Allison |
I know this is too late for this weekend's formal, but an option for the future is having cups sewn into the dress. That way you won't have to be thinking of things like duct taping the girls! (ouch!!!)
