Bonsai kittens- sick and scary!
 

Sorors, sisterfriends and everyone else, I saw a website yesterday that freaked me out, a lot. I don't know how new these things are, but a Japanese man in New York sells something called "Bonsai kittens".
Kittens are injected with 2mg equivalent dosage of Valium via Ketamine after 12 hr fasting regimen. Then they are inserted into a glass jar. Their anus is sealed with Super Glue prior to insertion. They grow into the shape of the jar. They are then sold. For the rest of the story, go to the website. I have sent 2 e-mails to the ASPCA to see if they can do anything about this, what are your thoughts?

I am truly horrified. As an owner of 8 beautiful cats, I can't believe anyone could be so cruel. I went to the ASPCA website and found a link to the subject. Here is part of their response to the website:
"The ASPCA Speaks Out Against Bonsai Kitten

Presents Steps to Encourage Shutdown of Offensive Website

The ASPCA shares your anger and concern about the Bonsai Kitten website. Our Humane Law Enforcement Department is aware of this site, and has conducted a thorough investigation. We have determined that this site is a hoax and has been shut down at least two times in the recent past."

So, I don't know...is it really a hoax? I truly hope so. I am going to call the ASPCA tomorrow during business hours to get more information.

I PRAY TO GOD THIS IS A HOAX! and a sick one at that! I have 2 beautiful cats(felix and sassy) and this truly upset me. I love animals! I could barely go to the damn link!

Me too! My roommate came in and was like, "what are you crying about?" But i'm with you....anything i can do? I don't even like cats but it's an issue of humanity and decency.

I really want to believe this is a hoax. I hope no one tries this at home, they do tell you how to do it yourself! Tell us what you hear after you make the phone call.

That was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen! But you would think that any animal that was not allowed to expel waste from it's body would die?no? It just doesn't seem real to me.I hope it's not.

OHMYGOD!! I hate cats, but this is horrible! It looks so painful. I guess I really don't understand the point. Call me morbid, but I want to see a picture of one that's been taken out of the container because I JUST DON'T GET IT!

I'ts all a joke. Its all fake, the ASPCA knows its a joke, they just don't like it. No kitties were harmed, it was all for sick fun.

This really hurts my heart. I am also a cat owner, and I have raised cats for years and would never dream of putting one through this torture!

I hope that there are ways to get this stopped. I too will help in to do what it takes to get this company shut down!

How disgusting!! Even if it is a hoax, you have to wonder about anyone that would think of something so tasteless. There's no telling what these "people" are really doing to cats in their spare time!

The ASPCA and the Humane Society says the site is a prank. However, the FBI investigation is going on because the website encourages people to try it at home. Yes, an animal that isn't allowed to expel it's waste would die, that's why they tell you to insert a tube into the animal before you glue it's anus shut. (How sick) I wonder how many people actually want a star shaped cat and try this at home. The site doesn't say that it's only a joke and to not try it at home. They encourage it! I want to know what happens after the investigation.

I don't know whether to cry or laugh hearing grown women talk about how to shut an anus. LOL!

I'm rollin at whoever said "and I don't even like cats!" LOL, cause they too much like us that's why!
