hi,
i am going thru rush in d fall and i was wondering bout recs. i really do not know any alumni that is greek and i really want to increase my chances of getting in. the chapters in my school are

alpha chi omega
alpha gamma delta
alpha omicron pi
chi omega
delta gamma
delta delta delta
gamma phi beta
kappa alpha theta
kappa kappa gamma
phi mu
pi beta phi
zeta tau alpha

so i was wondering if there was any one who could tell me what i need to do to get recs for these chapters. thank you

First off, I would contact those on GC and get to know each and every Soroity better by checking their web site and asking questions of GC Members.

A good question to ask yourself, is why someone would want to give a Rec, when they do not know you?

Therefore, your first priority is to get to know people. Joing a Greek Organizatin is not to be taken Lightly! This is a commentment for life!:)

I have been doing it longer than most on GC! 40 Years and still beleive in what Being a Greek Is!;) :cool:

well i just want some ideas as to how to get them. i hear about the local panhellic stuff but i dont know what it means and how to get in touch with them for recs

It's likely that you actually know alumnae in your area that can provide you with recs. Check with your HS teachers. You'll be surprised how many are members of sororities.

This will give you a list of all Alumnae Panhellenics and there's an email address for NPC to get the contact information for the one you want.

I didn't see one listed for Norman, but there is one in Stillwater.

I am an Oklahoma Delta Gamma alumni. I know there are several alumni groups throughout the state, and they do usually write recs during the summer for girls getting ready to go through rush. I looked it up, and there are DG groups in Enid, OK City, Norman, Tulsa and Edmond. If you want to PM me, I can either give you contact info for one of the groups, or I can get info from you and write you a rec. Good luck!:)
