Valdosta State soon to be Division 1?
 

Looks like VSU is looking to make the move to become a Division 1 school in the coming years probably within a 5- to 10 year period.

I like the idea because it would lead to our sports teams playing more recognizable teams. I would assume they probably would end up in the same division as Georgia Southern. UGA's first game this year is against Georgia Southern. Could you imagine one day UGA vs Valdosta State? That would be hilarious but fun to watch my alma mater get killed.

VDSU is Division II. They're elite in DII. I think they'd do alright in I-AA. VDSU is in contention every year. I'm not sure there's the gigantic difference in the quality of players in D-IAA vs. D-II that there is in I-AA vs I-A.

and its VSU:p Yes every divsion 1aa team they played last year they killed.

My bad.. VSU...

My alma mater made it two deep in the playoffs this year. Might be fit for D-IAA in a few years.

It's kind of tough though when you have Tarleton State and Texas A&M Kingsville in your conference :D
