Teeth in academic expectations

I realize that 99% of our groups require some kind of GPA. Many of us require some kinds of study hours.

What types of things do you use (positive or negative) to reinforce these things?

No marks.... no mixers and hence no girls.... seems to work.

examples from my chapter

NO SKIPPY
We promote going to class by passing around an empty Skippy Peanut Butter Jar. You get to put your name in the jar if you went to all your classes. A name is pulled at random for having "No Skippies" and the sister is rewarded.

A+ ADPi's
Keep a bulletin board tacked in the library for sisters to record their high grades each week.

Smartie-Pi's
Give out smarties candies and recognize the names of sisters who are excelling

Wise Pi
Each week, a sister is nominated for Wise Pi of the week. She gets a certificate a special ADPi shirt to wear for the week. It's a status symbol to be the wise pi! (another chapter has a weekly "scholarship queen" who gets serenaded with a "Hail to the queen" song and a tiara!)

Professor Dessert
Professors are invited to a special reception to network with sisters, receive a special certificate, and ADPi's with high grades are recognized. Members of honor societies are recognized, too.

ADPi Honor Society
We have a special tapping ceremony for members who have attained a certain GPA.

Study Hours
Anyone who has under the required cumulative GPA must complete set study hours each week and submit them to the scholarship chair. If a member is not succeeding, she will gradually lose social privledges, and there is a specific outline of this in the bylaws. Once a member fails to make grades, she will be called to a standards meeting, with the standards chair, scholarship and president. Together, they will develop a plan that helps the member improve her grades through better time management and study skills.

Member Education
At our fall retreat, the scholarship chair gives every member a copy of the academic plan and reviews it with them.

We hold workshops throughout the year on study tips and time management, resume writing, etc.

Members submit proof of full time enrollment every semester.

The scholarship chair promotes study abroad opps, scholarships/fin aid deadlines, new classes being offered, tutoring available on campus, pairs up sisters in the same major as "study buddies" and keeps a list of chapter members who are willing tutors handy for anyone who wants to be tutored. We also keep study files by having sisters keep their previous courses' notes filed in the chapter house library.
