New Book Release: Delta Girls Stories of Sisterhood
An Anthology of Stories Written by Women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Have you ever wondered why someone would pledge a sorority; particularly Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated or just wondered what this sisterhood thing is all about?

With Delta Girls Stories of Sisterhood, award-winning author/poet Linda Everett Moyé, united successful writers with emerging new literary talent, to address these questions and more. This rich and diverse anthology provides a candid view as to the motivation of over 200,000 women who have achieved membership into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority since 1913. They have dedicated themselves to performing acts of public service and scholarship through their Five Point Programmatic Thrust. This book celebrates the personal journey, the relationships sustained, and the legacy that many have built and continue to develop through a lifetime commitment to sisterhood.

The stories and poems published in this anthology and written by Delta women hailing from across the United States, present a powerful, moving and insightful look on how their lives have been touched, shaped, guided and/or inspired by a fellow sorority sister. Each Delta shares an individual story and shares how relating to the sisterhood has touched their lives on a personal level.

This first major collection of Delta women writing their own stories, is beautifully illustrated by renowned artist (Delta) Peggy Van Buren. It serves as a tribute to the women who live or have lived their lives demonstrating the essence of true sisterhood. The result is a heartfelt anthology full of energy and stylistic variation that is an inspiring gift for all women.

Moyé will debut the book, Delta Girls Stories of Sisterhood, on March 20, 2004, at the Radisson Hotel, 815 Main Street, Ft. Worth, Texas during the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s annual Texas/New Mexico Statewide meeting. Several of the thirty-nine contributing authors will be present to discuss as well as autograph their individual stories from 8:00 a.m. until noon.

Best-selling authors and nationally known speakers have contributed to Delta Girls Stories of Sisterhood as co-editors. They include best-selling author Victoria Christopher Murray, author of Temptation and Joy, and contributing author of Blessed Assurance: Inspirational Short Stories of Hope and Strength for Life’s Journey; motivational speaker Veraunda I. First I've heard of it

@CrimsonAngel, do you plan on selling it at convention?

CrimsonAngel2001 03-21-2004 12:49 AM

I do believe that Soror Moye will have something set up at convention. I'll ask her to double check.

Soror Moye was one of the featured authors at an event my chapter, Chicago Alumnae, had a couple of years ago. I have an autographed copy of her book of poetry. She is so talented and is a joy to talk to and be around. I hope I get another chance to talk with her in Vegas. I will definitely pick up a copy of the book as well.

I purchased the book through the publishers website. I received it yesterday and was pleased to find a signed copy of the book. I started reading the book last night and I love it already. As an interest, I am thoroughly pleased with the book and I'm more inspired to pursue membership with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority INC. Delta women are the epitome of class, grace, and excellence.

Even though I wrote in it because I have been away at school I didnt get a chance to look at the actual book. I just arrived home to Md today and saw it and it's great. If you purchase it through her site you get a signed copy. She has been really great to work with and she signed alll of the books that I ordered and sent me a great card for contributing in the text.

I received this email from Linda Moye and wanted to share with everyone. I suppose anyone who purchased a book received this.

I am very happy to let you know that I have been invited to be a part of the Authors' Pavilion during the Delta National Convention in Las Vegas. The Pavilion will be set up in the vendors area on Monday and Tuesday (July 29 and 30) and these are the only times I am authorized to sell books during the convention.

I will have copies of my books of poetry:

From A Delta's Heart
The Courage to Say It
Where Spirits Dance
and my newest book, Delta Girls Stories of Sisterhood. This book is a collective work of 45 writings by 39 Deltas from all over the country about sisterhood in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. It is a great gift for yourself or another Delta, someone who is interested in Delta - especially a legacy, for someone new to Delta, or for the chapter to give as a courtesy. See the attached for more info and the list of Sorors who have contributed to the book.

If you are a Delta, please come by and see me and let the Sorors from your chapters and regions know about my books and encourage them to find me during the Pavilion and purchase their copies. My publishing company is donating 15% of proceeds from the sale of the Delta Girls book to DREF.

If you are not a Delta, please pass this e-mail on to some that you know.

More info about my books and about me may be found at my website, www.lindamoye.com.
