MTV's I Want a Famous Face...

Did anyone watch this last night or catch reruns?

Last night they profiled twin brothers who are in LOVE with Brad Pitt to the point they got plastic surgery to look like him. One brother spent over $12,000 and the other $9,000. Got new teeth, new hair color, a over all new look.

Now, they did look 3000% better.

But they didn't look a thing like Brad Pitt. I think they should give mandatory mental health evaluations before going under the knife so they know beforehand if they will be able to deal with the fact they may not come out looking the way they hoped.

Off topic but have you heard of the Italian show where they do plastic surdey live on the air? The title of the show translate to "Scalpel"

Thank you because they were really scaring me with there love for Pitt. But the did look so much better. But the Italian show...I don't think I would be able to handle it due to the fact that I was about to faint when the Pitt lovers where under the knife. But Why? That was my question. Don't get me wrong I got some item I would loved sucked out of me, but changing my whole face to look like someone else...that's kinda sick.

A reputable surgeon will give you a mental evaluation. Not completely in depth, but you get one.

I still think those two looked weird...

I like shows like Extreme Makeover better..

I saw the show and I think that those twins had serious self esteem and body image issues. The worst part was when they said, "girls will start to like us when we look like Brad." They weren't even ugly. They really needed a shrink and a dermatologist much more than they needed a plastic surgeon.

What's crazy to me is that they had the surgery to look like Brad Pitt and both of them came out looking like Val Kilmer to me. And, I think that they were both wearing heavy, pancake makeup after the surgery. A little Proactive was all they needed.

THANK YOU!!! I didnt think they were cute before OR after the surgery..

Those poor fellas just needed some proactive, a trip to Super Cuts, and a few sessions with Dr. Phil.

Did I miss who paid for surgeries?

what ever happened to confidence?

tld221 03-20-2004 01:10 AM

when u thought reality tv hit its low, it dropped another level. this idea is disgusting... its one thing to want to have _______'s body (fill in whoever u like) but to have their face?

lost my vote. and "extreme makeover" im not feelin either. however, im strangely drawn to "queer eye."

whats next? bet will do "the first black makeover show?"

and yes, i am sippin that haterade--no, im chuggin it--64oz!

This show is really a sad indicment of the mental health of young people in the United States. Next week is the chick who wants to look like Britney Spears, and wants to be a PROFESSIONAL Britney impersonator. Shute, well Britney is already being paid to be a Janet Jackson impersonator!:D

Not only that...but Britney is also being paid to be a full-time Madonna wannabe (did y'all see Britney's new commerical/ad)? That girl's dancing had me cracking up the first time I saw the commerical for the show. It's really sad...:(

Yeah...Exploitation of our youth at it's best...

Conskeeted7 03-23-2004 12:21 PM

I wonder how the parents of these young people feel. I think I'd be hurt and a little disappointed in myself if my child was so infatuated with someone else that they essentially wanted to become them. What's wrong with being yourself? Everyone has flaws. Just learn to accept your own and stop ignoring other people's.

AngelicWings21 04-18-2004 06:17 PM

In early high school...I couldn't stand looking at myself in the mirror...I was a little heavy...and I didn't think I was pretty enough...maybe it was b/c none of the guys seem to have in interest in me...but I knew I was smart...and had a great personality...so I worked out, and toned up my body....to a size a like and starting learning who I was...what clothes flattered me more...and so on.....by the 11th grade most of the guys wanted to be my bf...but I didn't see cause I knew I was the same person from freshman year...just with a little more confidence and a little wiser...I didn't have a bf till senior...

but to the subject at hand...I don't know why someone would idolize someone so much that they would want to look just like them or even similar...being different is what makes stand out....if we all looked the same ...how boring would that be....
The Brat Pitt wannabes they need some serious conseling....and the girl who said every guy fantasizes about Pam Anderson...I was like.......where and who....

they need to realize that the celebs that they idolize so much are not perfect themselves...and they too also have issues with their image.......no one is perfect..

Cali_Keisha 04-19-2004 11:57 AM

That show is doing 3 much. Why would u wanna look like someone else anyways? They need 2 learn to be happy with who they are and stop trippin over the little things in life, no one is perfect and it takes a lot 2 get the stars that way anyway.

1savvydiva 04-19-2004 12:18 PM

Nah...I won't ever say that I love the way someone looks SOOOO much that I would want to go under the knife to look like them. I like the way I look, and I wouldn't change anything about my face. Now my body? That's another story. Yes, I want to lose weight, but I don't even think I'd do lipo or any of the extreme makeover stuff. If anything, I'd be on a reality show called, "I want a famous personal trainer" to get my ass whipped into shape. :p
