Internet Friendships
 

Have you made any internet friendships other then your Sorors or Frat? What were you experiences?
I have made some great contacts online, which surprised me because I was an online critic, especially in regard to dating. I joined a group of Chicagoland Black BBW's(consisting of about 15), who was there for me last year during difficult times. I even gave a party for them at my home. We go to the riverboat, plays, etc. Friends I'll have a lifetime I would imagine.

That's wonderful!

Basically the 'ships that I have are in the realm of the "Phirst Phamily". I am really looking forward to actually meeting MANY of my peeps this Fall, hopefully, if the Lord says the same! LOL

Can I be honest here?

I've formed many friendships via the net and it seems the majority were formed because of a interest in Alpha Kappa Alpha but it's streched far beyond that....Man I've met so many goofballs and I'm so glad I have! You all are NUTS!!!!

Even if I never make it to a level of greekdom the org has brought many wonderful people into my life. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I too have developed "friendships" with SFs who are striving for the same thing as me. We support each other, give advice, encouragement,etc. However, I don't think I would feel comfortable meeting them. I know it sounds strange, but it's easier telling a complete stranger my deepest thoughts, than my girlfriend whom I've known for a long time. I wonder why?

Anyway, the majority of the friendships I've made on line have been Sorors (and one Delta http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif). But I have made a couple of non-Greek buddies, and I love chatting with them, oh the hilarity!!!!!!!

All of my internet friendships have been with fellow sisterfriends. Since then, they have become memberfriends, which was a little bit hard for me at first, since I am still striving. However, I am extremely happy for them and rejoice in the fact that they have finally achieved their goal. I really appreciate those friendships that have blossomed from our common interest and I look forward to making more.

Most of the Internet friends I have made are sisterfriends. A few of them have gone on to become members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Some of them (including myself) are still striving. But I would not trade any of my internet SF for anything in the world http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

On a more intersting note, I met my "boo" (LOL) online over 2 years ago. Dunno what the future holds, but our meeting was magical and since then life has not been dull!

I have also been priveleged to meet my boo over the internet almost 2 years ago. She is my first love and it has been incredible. But also have met one of bestest friends over the internet (long story) and I have met a intelligent young brother who is a member of the org I wish to committ to as well as the chapter at my school....talk about networking!!
