Is there a thread about pros and cons of livejournal vs xanga? Ive had both, and I kept the xanga cos it was easier to navigate and more visually appealing but Id love to hear other peoples views...

I love xanga better...there isnt a comparison IMO

Well I love lj because of many reasons... First has been the ease of use... Also the ability to greatly modify the way my lj looks... Layout colors images etc... I also like the way communities work on there... Easy posting to communities... easy to manage communities... The ability to find people based on interests and location... One of the most important to me is the ability to easily embed my journal into my website... Oh and being able to subscribe to rss feeds through it is handy as well... I don't have to use a separate browser to read everything I check daily online (including some xanga blogs)...
Overall, my top reasons to stick with lj over xanga (which I do have technically as well) is the abiliity to customize it greatly and being able to embed it in my website using php... |
i've had both and i'm xanga for life man! it's awesome and i've found that more people i know are involved with xanga.

Definitely Xanga. LJ's a little to emotional for my taste. www.xanga.com/angelsparxxx

I have LJ...but my advisor (who is an active member on GC) would SHOOT me if she saw some of the stuff I wrote. As of January 1st, I had no chjoice but to make my LJ friends only (or in some cases, private ranting and raving to calm my nerves). My advisor is always on my rear about things I do online. Out of respect of NOT saying something that could reflect badly on my organization, I have to keep my mouth shut more often than I like.....like corrupt student government associations ....Writing in a paper journal doesnt work for me....I like ranting and raving online in a private audience of people I trust who arent gonna blab when I'm all hacked off about incident XYZ. But for the record, LJ has some great greek communities on there. user name is amanda6035 as well. Don't be startled at the "in your face" political cartoons. That's kinda all I did for the first 6 months or so of being on LJ. |
