Out Sourcing
Kansas and Missouri both have Legislation pending:
Companies who are out sourcing will not be allowed to reap Thousands of Dollars from the States Coffiers for expansion, whether it be tax breaks, or grants that were supposed to go to hiring people from those States! Finally A Heads Up To Them! Of course there are many who are trying to fight is by saying they are doing it to keep costs down! Da, hell yes, because people without jobs cannot purchase anything! |
People who don't believe in outsourcing are stupid and selfish.

Just how can that be Rudey!
The people who lost Jobs because of this canot buy goods from K/W-mart, the local Hardware Stores, ETC! They get maxed out on Plastic, and file Bankruptcy. Da, where is the benefit in that? Who loses, You and I do!:( Dont tell me you beleive in the B S that the economy is turning around! Da Stated today, that the FED is not planning on raising the % Rate for the rest of the year! Hell, you said you are so smart! Gas is rising to the highest levesl, Lumber has jumped a ton! So smart guy what happens next. Da, Building slows down, Toy, Clothing , Department, Resturnants close and go out of Business! When they do, people lose jobs! No $$$$! Called AOL about a Prob and got some Dude from New Dehlie! Yep, The Bush Govt is really on top of the economic problems! J Kerry is going to Fix it, Not! |
You export goods and make no money because people in other countries don't have jobs to buy these goods.
You demand the right to be selfish. A man who works for less to support his family on what you spend on a cup of fancy coffee evidently is less deserving than you of a job that you get paid more for. You demand the right to be lazy and to forget what innovation is. Your demanding the country fall behind and be forgotten for your selfish needs. You demand that other sectors of the economy support yours on their backs. The call centers in India are built around US technology. Evidently you have more of a right to your job, than even other US workers. You demand that others not be able to purchase goods because you demand their prices be kept high because of labor costs. -Rudey |
Rudy's right.
Couldn't have said it better myself Rudy. |
Though I don't support outsourcing, I understand it. Americans want it both ways. We don't want to pay an extra ten cents for gas, then complain about going to our coutries to get it.
Then we turn around and complain about outsorcing, BUT if you asked us to pay Nordstrom prices at Wal-Mart we'd have a heartattack. We're gonna have to give up something. Hypothetically, OK we stop outsourcing, everyone in America can get these jobs, but now everything you buy costs an arm and a leg, new complaints. Personally I don't mind paying higher prices, if it means my friends can get jobs, why freaking not. But I GUARANTEE that if they stopped outsourcing and prices went back up people would be bytching. You can't have it both ways, you just can't. |
Editorial in Sunday's paper said that some companies who handle tax preparation are outsourcing to India.
Yes, I would LOVE for someone in India to have all our SS#s, legal names, address... |

There are numerous prisons with those telemarketing programs set up. There was a big controvery last year because some people found out about it and were complaining. The Feds say that the prisoners are closely monitored, and screened prior to being allowed to participate in this program. Ya'll SERIOUSLY didn't know this? OH Goodness |

I wouldn't say that the outsourcing of telemarketing to prisoners was super common or anything but I have read about it over time. Here are some articles I found online:
Wichita Business Journal (August 200) TBO.Com (February 2004 -- story out of Ontario, Oregon) Credit Suit (March 2004). LD |
Thanks Laura! That's very interesting. I think it's beyond awful that some of the prisoners get paid less than minimum wage, though.
