Sorors, Have you heard?
 

Last night, I was speaking with my LS and she informed me that Vivica A. Fox would be initiated as an honorary soror at boule'. Has anyone else heard this? I guess we will have to wait until next week to find out!

No, I haven't heard that, though I just reactivated through a graduate chapter, and no one's mentioned it at any meeting/gathering I've been to in the last three months. If this is true, does anyone know why she might have been chosen? I wasn't aware of any outstanding community service contributions Ms. Fox has made to the diaspora.

I haven't heard this before either. Like, DG, if this is true I would like to know what contributions she has made that makes her worthy of the honor.

I don't know. I asked the same thing. Maybe she has a relative that is in one of the host chapters in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I had the same thought when I found out Jada became one. Then, I read in the Ivy Leaf that her grandmother was a soror in Baltimore.

I haven't heard about the Vivica A. Fox thing either. Question: Is Susan Taylor, former editor-in-chief of ESSENCE greek? I've always been impressed with her and of course, I'm an avid reader of the magazine. If she's not greek, has her name ever been brought up for honorary membership?

Roxie Roker is indeed an IBW. she crossed at Howard. Loretta Devine is also a Soror. i'm not sure where she crossed. she was overheard by a soror saying that she needed to get active again. in our big AKA directory, she is listed as a member.

I hope this question is not out of line, but in the "big directory" is every women who was ever initiated listed as a member or just the ones who are currently active?

Those who are in the "big book" are Sorors who were "located". Then, there is a section where it lists members whose information was outdated or obsolete. This "big book" was printed in 1998.

Basically, when I heard about this directory, I passed the word on to other sorors and so on and so forth. Also, when I gave the person my information and my mothers, we're on page 592 http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif, they asked me about a relative of mine, I didn't know. Also, they asked me if I had information of other Sorors.

I just saw this on another site, but has any Soror heard that Loretta Divine or the late Roxie Roker (Helen Willis) are/were Sorors?

I HEARD THIS LAST YEAR...THIS WAS THE SAME RUMOR THAT AROSE LAST BOULE...I HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING FOR THIS BOULE...........THIS IS ONE THAT I AM TRIPPING OFF OF....

Soror, I am almost cetain that Roxie Roker is an IBW... I believe I saw this in a past issue of The Ivy Leaf as "A Soror to Know".
Now Miss LD, I dunno!
