bachelorette party plans with under 21-ers
 

Hey everyone,

I need your help. I'm trying to plan a bachelorette party but the groom's sister is in the party and is only 18. We had originally thought of going to vegas but I am not sure she'd have a good time since she wont be able to do anything. Does anyone have any good ideas of how we can encorporate her into the festivities?

I can't think of something for the entire night...

But maybe rent a limo, go out to dinner for starters.

What kind of budget are you working with? Lately... I have seen a lot of parties at the local club I go to and everyone just goes dancing... but again... it's 21+

Maybe hit up a spa? :confused:

I have been to bachelor parties with 18 year old girls. They're called strippers.

are there any 18+ clubs anywhere near you?

Remember, the event is about the BRIDE, not her 18 year old bridesmaid. The bridesmaid should be mature enough to understand this.

For ways to incorporate the underage, you can have a nice dinner followed by a lingerie party-- where the bride gets gifts to use on her honeymoon. You can play games, etc. THEN, get the limo and go out on the town for an evening of dancing and drinking with the ladies who are of age.

Good question I dont know. I'm from Boston and currently living near LA and the wedding is in Pittsburgh so I dont know if Pittsburgh has 18+ clubs. Maybe some of the pittsburghians on GC can help me out there ;).

Here's another question. When do you think it is a good idea to have the bachelorette party (ie how far in advance before the wedding)? We have a bridesmaid currently in the peacecorps who wants to be there for the party but probably won't get in until days before the wedding. I personally think thats too late, but she's being somewhat difficult and I wish, like adpiucf mentioned, that she would be mature enough about this to realize its not about her but about the bride...

HB, why not have the PeaceCorps friend video tape a message that you can play at dinner?

As for people thinking it is all about them, well... I've been there, and you can't change them. Be prepared to piss people off. Just make sure those people aren't the bride or her mom!

Just remember, you have to do what is best for the bride and the majority. If a few people can't make it here or there, that's ok.

Circulate a couple of dates and pick the date that work best for the majority. You can pick the one to have the all-out b-party your 21+ bride deserves to have! If anyone complains, you can say, "NAME, I understand your disappointment, but this is the date that works best for the majority and for the bride! She understands that you mean a lot to her and I am sure that you will have an opportunity to have an evening out together soon to celebrate. For now, it's her night and we want to make it fun. If you can't be there, I'd still love your advice or ideas of ways to make it special for the bride. After all, it's all about her, right?"

Other ideas for your event:
1) Limo, drinks and dancing
2) Lingerie party
3) Naughty toy party (you can even bring in a lady to do a home show!)
4) Girls Slumber Party (complete with PJs, toenail painting, girly mags and 80's movies like Pretty in Pink)

You can also do what friends of mine did-- let me preface this by saying that their entire wedding was in Vegas, so it was a weeklong party. The bride and groom had their b-party TOGETHER, and then split off. This included everyone who wanted to come in a neutral place for a Vegas show, and then the people who wanted to stay up late and get crazy could go out.

If you girls want a personal stripper for the bride to be, lemme know. I've wanted to do that at least once in my life.:D

My bachelorette party will have some under-21ers and my MOH is aware of that...so, hopefully she'll plan around that. More than likely we'll do something at her house because it's out in the boonies and no one will complain about the noise ;)

This is one thing I hate about Pgh (and all of PA) it's very hard to do things with a mixed (21s and non-21s) group.

The few clubs that are all ages have a "cage" or something else separating those who can drink from those who can't. It really sucks and is horrible for the atmosphere.

I think that you can go to the Improv or Funnybone (comedy clubs) if you are 18, but don't quote me on that.
